For me, stats kind of ruined the game. From first seeing my own, and then caring about those numbers, is when the game first became stressful. Before that i could grind a stock tier 9 with ease because i didn't care, i just played, got a bit of xp, rinse and repeat and eventually got the tier X. Nowadays a stock tier 9 is a rage inducing experience, and if at the end of the night my recent WN8, win rate, dmg caused etc aren't better than my overall i view the entire session as having been a waste of time, as sad as that sounds. Some of the guys here just tear the reds up every night with ease and always have but i'm a potato wearing a bluenicum suit so it gets stressful.
If stats weren't tracked (they are pointless in a pup stomping game that has no real competitive mode), would the game be any worse for it, or not? For me, i'd be able to play for fun again, and my team mates often can't get any worse anyway regardless of if they know stats exist or not so i doubt they would play any worse if the stats didn't exist. What do you think? Of course simply not checking stats is the easy answer but just could never help myself there.

I agree. I was having fun til I realized how much I sucked. Then I started stressing stats. Especially when they came out with MOEs. I don't care so much anymore, but when I die before doing anything I get a whole more angry than I should.

After reading some bits out of that thread on the official forums, and learning that WOTInfo's data is based solely off of the playerbase that looks up their stats and not the playerbase as a whole, that just invalidates the whole concept of those stats for me. Not that I cared a huge ton about them to begin with, but it was a way for me to see how much I improved. Now I don't really care about them, and I'm totally okay with that. Still gonna be displeased with myself if I completely fail in a match though, much like I was doing last night lol.

I believe the whole "only those who check wotinfo" thing is mistaken. I may be wrong, but I believe it only has to do with creating recent WN8. When I checked the nerf barometer to look at the number of battles in tier 8 vehicles, the Tiger 2 has 2991k battles on xbox. Seems that number includes everyone that has not checked wotinfo.

It added a level of stress for me trying to increase my stats. A few times I spent gold to convert free XP to avoid stock tank packages. I struggle to be blue and have been trying to focus on just having fun. I removed stats from my signature on here and the shit forum. I played a few ranked battles last night. Two players were talking during the countdown to decide which direction to go. One of them said "just follow the Bunker guy". That was a real boost to my moral and also shows the reputation the Bunker Clan has for kicking ass!

To your point Rest, the game would probably not be as toxic, not as stressful without the numbers..
However, they, like the waffle, are not going anywhere..
They will get changed/updated here and there, but there always has to be a way for one person to say they are better than someone else..
I play team games to play as a team, and since stats like win8 are individual scoring, I value them less than I do for how I feel I play the game..
I hang with people I have a good time with, win or lose..
Those that are only in it for themselves, can go f*ck themselves, as it's not worth my time to drag my game down due to trying to appease some magical number monster..
Having a good time with whatever I play makes the friends I have actual friends..
Whether it's jester surrounding me with C4 while playing wildlands, or lumberjack and the rest of the platoon bailing on me as I was in the slowest tank, hoping I wouldn't notice..
Those are fun times, and we didn't need numbers nor wins to have them..
If I was into the competetive scene, then I would value them probably, but I'm not, I have too much else going on to get that deep into a game anymore..

You folks pointed out early on that fixating on numbers was really hurting my performance. Darkgift's toxic comment is so painfully true. One moment we are focusing fire and winning as a team, then in the next I get hate mail for "stealing a kill" from a would be purple.
I do look at numbers more to compare tanks with my playing style. And yes, I would like to be blue and toon with better players because I really enjoy a well played game with good team cooperation, even in a loss. Unfortunately, to answer the question "how you doing, how do you know?" takes numbers.
Yes, BNKR often attracts attention. I notice that in ranked play certain clans tend to seek out each other. Feel sorry for those slugs that pulled up next to me, though.

I'm only interested in them as they pertain to my improvement. Nothing more, nothing less. I play to have fun with those I platoon with and as long as we have fun I'm all good.
