Favorite Ships Thread

I haven't played much but these are my favs so far:

CA: Sveitlana
DD: Derzki
BB: Keonig Albert

Edit: The K Albert is actually my only BB so far. Its only "OP" if the reds are stipid enough to sit in one place within range. Otherwise its too slow, takes way too long to reload, and takes the turrets even longer to rotate. A CA could easily out manuver this shit heap and circle it to death while raining fire on it as it reloads.

BB: Fuso. You cant miss with it. Her guns are scalpels at essentially any range, and getting within 10km of her broadside is virtually suicide for any Cruiser in the game. Half of my citidels with her are done at ranges greater than 18km. She is speedy and agile, with the most damaging broadside at tier 6. Her armour, when angled properly, can deflect surprising amounts of damage, and the sheer volume of shells she flings ensures that anything not immediately obliterated will suffer apocalyptic damage.

Cruiser: Kirov. This thing belches fire like no other ship. HE from 16km will hit a battleship for 5k-7k damage, with just the impact, plus several fires. She is mobile enough that you can avoid fire from long distance, and her guns are hideously devastating vs DD's. With AP loaded, it is not uncommon to remove 15,000 health in a single salvo from any same tier cruiser. She turns like a battleship, but she hits like one too.

Notable mention is the Konigsberg german CA. The AP rounds will sometimes citidel battleships within 10km, and will hit multiple cit's VS enemy cruisers roughly every 7 seconds. Her ludicrously accurate guns have exceedingly high velocity, making accurate fire at long ranges almost hilariously simple.

DD: Mutsuki. Nimble and stealthy, you can easily sneak past cruiser screens and target enemy capitol ships, which violently explode instantly to multiple torpedo hits, without even being detected. A master of area denial, the 10km range torpedoes when fired in narrow spreads spell death to anyone who doesn't actively change course and direction constantly, brutally punishing the foolhardy who blunder into range.

The Russian DD's are enjoyable, as they excel at harassment. They fire quickly, with relatively powerful and long range guns, with high fire chances. Their agility is the highest in the game, and hitting them from practical ranges can be infuriating.
If they close to within a meagre 4km's, they fire retardedly fast, massively damaging torpedoes in comically high volume, which virtually guarantees a kill on all but the most attentive and skilled DD captains, with BB's and even most Cruisers rarely surviving, save for the intervention of luck alone.

Hey Ronnie James Dio, how do you aim so well with the Kirov? I'm lucky if I get 4k damage in one salvo. Last night I was doing ok with AP and wven getting citadels. And long range aiming is a chore for me.

Aiming is a learn skill but pay attention to your shell travel time and the numbers on the croshair. For more damage you want to use he on angled targets/or at extreme range on BBS (also on DD since they usually just take overpens from ap) if the target is showing broadside aim at the waterline for cruisers and the upper belt on most BBS if you can't pen the waterline belt this ensures the most damage per shell.(for BBS just mainly use ap on everything it's reliable enough and a couple of hits on a DD will still do massive damage.(also look for the citadel on ships as that's the sweet spot)
