Mine is brawler. Requires really good angling, knowledge of enemy penetration, dpm, alpha, reload, mobility and gun depression. It's possible to take on multiple tanks alone but you have to angle against which ever one can hit hardest and is next to load, whilst working to reduce the number of guns firing at you ASAP, and use dead tanks/rocks etc for cover, and take advantage of tanks with poor gun depression by using terrain against them.
Tanks trying to flank are the biggest threat and need taking out first. Against heavies with big poor handling guns i tend to get right next to them and rock back and forth, alot of reds end up missing shots. Should a tank like a ST-I, or IS-3 facehug, i either try to destroy their tracks if possible or reverse up a rock etc if there is one nearby as it means you end up with your gun pointing down at them, negating their hull sloping. Got to be careful with that one.
What about you, any tips regarding your playstyle?

Scouts as I just never felt that I could effectively play heavies, or I never took time to really get good at using armor. I've done a litte side scrapping (even with some mediums) to get the benefit of angles, but never felt confident. With a scout, I'm much more confident even though I could get wrecked very easily. The downside to a scout is the carry potential. Yes, I've done it, but too many bad guys left that can cover the map from many directions negates the speed and vision. I had a little medium spurt, but I seem to be more effective at the scout with the better mobility and cammo rating. However, I do want to some day get the E50. That's been on hold at tier 6 while I focused on my more effective tanks during madness. I also currently want to focus on 3 marking the WZ 131 and the move to the 132.

I've always seemed to get on more with mediums and lights, although it'd be arguable about how well I've done in them. I seem to gravitate towards tanks that can harass and flank in an effort to support heavies that are engaged. That said, I do want to become more proficient in all tank classes and I have tanks in every class...some I do well in, and others I struggle a bit (but have been improving).
The tanks that seem to challenge me the most are the super heavies like the E100 and IS-7. It seems that I need to refine my techniques because I seem to get buttered repeatedly by large caliber TDs and mediums.
I'm also finding myself caught between being too aggressive and getting over extended, or being too passive and missing out on potential damage.

Among the heavies, I lack the patience for "Hull-Downs" (US heavies). Have the most fun in KV-1S, more mobile; but brawling in the IS with the big gun, top tier is insane. Am starting to understand the fast mediums, and like being able to play all the rolls based on the match mix. Just don't like the lightening lites or arty. One's too fast for me and the other is too slow. So, it's more the specific tank than the type.

I'm also finding myself caught between being too aggressive and getting over extended, or being too passive and missing out on potential damage. That sums up why I have been enjoying light tanks lately. I like being in the action and sometimes in a heavy I get too much or not enough due to limited mobility. I've had some games in light tanks where the extra speed is the difference between a win or a loss. Doing a hit and run on a flank to get turrets turning in another direction has extended the life of many team mates. Being fast enough to return to base and reset the cap until the lemming train can get back there is also a bonus.

I've had to think of how to answer this, which is why it took so long to respond. My go to is brawling, which is why I like heavy tanks. I can go to the hot spot and try to do the most damage. This is also why I end up dying quickly, I end up getting there first or no one follows me and I'm overwelmed. I try to be a good team mate too. As a heavy, medium, I try to follow the greenie who seems to know what he's doing and support him the best I can by shooting when he can't and watching there flank. As a light I find a good hiding place and passively spot, then near the end I will look for weak lone tanks or arty and finish them off. As arty I pick the weak flank and try to hold that or support the main group as well as I can. This varies with the map. And as a tank destroyer, if its a weak sniper style one, I hang back and camp. If it's a heavy one I follow the heavies and help them as much as I can. My favorite playstyle varies with my mood.

Probably hill fighting in tanks with strong turret armor (and especially with good gun depression).
This is why I get along with the CAX, and will with the Chieftain once I have it. Shitty hull armor is irrelevant if you park it behind a hill.
It's amazing how many stupid players try yolo'ing across an open field to kill me when I'm hill fighting. It doesn't work for them, but they never learn. I WANT them out in the open field while I sit hull down.
