Me and Violet have decided to try to learn how to play lights by playing co-op on my account, and are doing quite well with the Chaffee. Just wondering which light tank line is the best though, or which individual lights are worth grinding for?

R35T (sorry...can't call you by any other name )...There are some very nice LTs out there that I think the two of you would really enjoy. My personal favorites are the Lycan (T71), T49, WZ-132 and LTTB. My thoughts on the ones I have in my garage:
Americans- T71- quick, good camo, 6 shots with pretty short reload, pretty good gun depression and APCR as standard round. I have the Lycan version and really enjoy it. Bulldog- fast, but not super quick regarding start-up speed, not as maneuverable as the T71, but awesome 10 shot auto loader (must manage reloads), very good gun depression, average camo, great late game assassin with 1500 damage clip capability. T49- Very fast, but not really quick from a stand still, workable camo, but not as good as the others. The 152mm makes this gun and it's an amazingly fun tank to play if you can deal with the derpiness of the accuracy. This is the tank I play when I want to get some laughs because you can play it multiple ways and I don't groan when I get a city map because 152mm doesn't care.
British- Snakebite- Really the only LT in this tree that I think is worth mentioning. Blazingly fast, only sees +2MM, great RoF, pretty good camo, but you need a very healthy load-out of APCR (so have some silver reserves) bec ause the pen is anemic. Very fun tank and devastating in a platoon of two, or more ( ).
Germans- Luchs- Very fun tank that is nimble, quick and fast (drifts like a boss which can be a problem sometimes). The 3cm gun is a blast, but you'll need to load out quite a bit of premium ammo for higher tiers. I really want to go back and play this tank more oftern. Actually training up another crew for this right now. AwfulPanther- This is a now a premium. It's big and a bit sluggish to get to top speed and the camo is only meh. The gun is pretty good and it rams other LTs extremely well. Still a fun tank. SP IC panzer- I liked this tank and it had good punch, but I didn't play it much at all because I wanted the Ru 251 and free XPd. It has good alpha and a 3 shot auto-loader with 750 damage burst. It has good pen, but slow shell velocity and very good gun depression. I kept it for play later. Ru 251- Very fun tank. I play it like a baby Leo 1. Good camo, very fast in a straight line (I think the fastest LT), but turns kind of sluggish. Great pen and RoF, but it has slow shell velocity that takes some getting used to.
French- ELC bis- One of my favorite tanks in the game. Very fast, crazy good camo and 90mm cannon with 240 alpha at T5. Great APCR pen. Depending on MM I will play this as a passive scout with it's great camo or as a TD. It's turret doesn't rotate very much and it's accuracy on the move is garbage, but these negatives don't detract too much from this very fun tank. 13 90- I actually enjoyed this tank, but the gun handling can really let it down. Outstanding camo and a 1440 burst potential. I played passive at the beginning and tried to save my health for picking off isolated lower health tanks late game. Must use some APCR in T10 battles.
Chinese- WZ-131- Very good camo, maneuverability (think Russian hovercraft) and punchy 85mm gun (200 alpha) with good RoF, although the premium round is HEAT which can pose problems when circling tanks because the tracks can eat the rounds and it doesn't have very good gun depression. I kept this tank because it's really fun. WZ-132- One of my favorites (T49, Lycan and LTTB). Amazing camo and it's very maneuverable and it's 100mm gun punches very well (244mm APCR pen). I play it like a paper medium and use it's camo to get cheeky shots.
Russian- LTTB- This is the only Russian LT I have, but it's very fun. Extremely fast from a standing start and top speed. It has pretty good armor against other LTs and it's gun punches pretty hard. It has a very fast RoF, but it's 3 degrees of gun depression takes some getting used to and it makes shooting on the move difficult sometimes because the smallest bump sends the round out into outer space. One of my favorites.

Just wondering which light tank line is the best though, or which individual lights are worth grinding for? Not much experience here but I'm going up the US line to get the T49 Derp. I didn't like the Chaffee but did well in the T37 and M41. I skipped the auto loader and went with the single shooter. I sold the Chaffee and T37 but the Bulldog is a keeper! You may want to watch some videos of the new tier 9 & 10 lights that PC is getting. If they come to console that could help you decide a line to go down. I watched a few reviews and some look like awesome tanks and others are kind of average.

American line is the most versatile. Get two T49s with the derp and do in those, that's fun.
No 59-16 or MT-25 love? 59-16 is amazing stealthy passive scout. Use the Autoloader to play clean up and wreck lights and arty. MT-25 is fun to wreck lights. Run them down with spall liner+controlled impact... The "cruise missile" build.

Was the T37 autoloader awful? The auto loader works fine. I just don't do well with them. I usually find myself in a CQB with a tank that didn't die in one clip. I need to plan my exit strategy better when I ambush someone.

I just upgraded to the derp gun on the T49 this morning. All the time I spent grinding this tank line with a goal of getting this gun paid off on my 1st shot with it. I nailed a CDC for 1000+ damage!

How's the AMX Chaffee (i might have spelt that wrong) holding up nowadays? Has powercreep set in with all the tier 8 mediums?

How's the AMX Chaffee (i might have spelt that wrong) holding up nowadays? Has powercreep set in with all the tier 8 mediums? R35T....still quite good (great camo, snap shots like a boss, quick, etc.), but......it still sees Tier 10s and suffers from a low health pool of 600 hit points. That said, It's part of the challenge with that tank that I'm starting to enjoy; living on the ragged edge. It's also a great opportunity to earn larger amounts of XP.

Good to hear mate, after using the tier 5 Chaffee i'm contemplating crewing and equipping the AMX again but was worried by things like the RU-251, Bulldog etc.

I really don't get the RU love tbh. That gun trolls you. It can't hit squat on the move out past 100 m and it's not that accurate past 350. The gun is good in between, which is where medium tanks are good too. Do people just spam premium or something?

no, you just have to be gud to use the Ru.
But really, it's pretty much a medium tank that goes at light speed. i actually prefer the Spic tbh.

If the T71 wasn't already a super dandy enough choice it is also the only path to the T69 Medium Although statistically the T-twenty-1 isn't terrible, it was too meh for me to keep any longer than the grind... The only tank I like an M1 gun on is my EZ8... I don't know why... that said, it isn't horrible either, the T21 If you haven't added a T69 to your garage you definitely should consider it along with the T71. If you already have a Lycan you can pawn your T71 later on if you want... but why go and do that when you can jump right into another T71 should you get vaporized unexpectedly find yourself with a light axe to grind? T71 is good times
