Okay so after talking with Rest a while back going to give this a shot. Hellcat- holy hell. Of late I'm stuck being bottom tier facing 8+ tier VIII - ususally heavies. and am struggling big time. moved to the 90mm but the reload is killing me. go for the faster reload and i'm bouncing more often then not.
so i need to run different equipment? Currently have optics/binos(don't remember which) and camo net. is the gun rammer worth it with the 90?

I'd keep the 90 and go with a rammer. Whilst it is stealthy, i hate being locked in place so i went with optics rammer and GLD i think (not 100% it's been a while) and played it more as a turretted light assault tank. The turret traverse is a pain though so i would pre-turn the turret in advance if going to do a drive-by type attack, which happened often on urban maps.
That's just me though. We didn't have the new crew skills when i had it. With muffled shot and the rest, a binocs/rammer/camo build could work very well on the latest maps. Remember to take some premium shells, the Hellcat gets amazing pen on them from what i remember, easily enough to carve through anything it faces. They make it easy mode basically.

90 to be able to perform while bottom tier and i play it as a light medium hybrid early to get spots. Then i try to pull back/change flank if needed to do continous damage while staying undetected.
As soon as the lightbulb shows i'm off to another spot. I use binos, net and rammer with a great crew, and expensive fuel to help with acceleration and traverse.

I completely forgot that fuel can help traverse.

One of my only two 3 marked tanks right now. I run rammer, net and binocs along with Cola. it has good speed that allows you to get to prime sniping/scouting positions early. As the other guys said, move immediately and relocate to another spot when detected. Don't be afraid to range far across the map to cover a faltering flank and use your speed to keep relocating to take advantage of you vision and great camo.
The cola will help the slow chassis and turret traverse and when in close quarters turn your turret to point in the direction you want to shoot before you pull out. Max out your camo and vision skills.

Well the rammer seems to help, i still can't seem to mesh with this tank Distance is your friend...IMO..everything done with this tank at the beginning of the battles should be geared around finding a spot (use your speed early game) that allows you good sight lines where your team will light tanks, or you will light them first (the Hellcat is a great passive scout in higher tier matches due to it's camo).
When possible you can get some cheeky shots in early as long as they are not looking at you or you won't get spotted. You must relocate as soon as your spotted...sometimes just dropping spot and moving 30-50m away is enough. IMO..always use the speed and distance to your benefit. When you can't, only pop out to shoot when the enemy is distracted, and always pre-point your turret in the direction you're going to fire to compensate for the slow turret traverse.

It was good of you to come here for help. I know you've had your differences with some folks who frequent this forum. Very big of you. Okay now for some HellKitty tips. Run the 90. Train all the camo and view range perks you can. Learn the good sniper spots. Always try to double bush your sniping spot. Your tank turns slow but accelerates fairly quickly and runs fast. Back into your sniping spots with your nose pointed towards your escape route. HAVE AN ESCAPE ROUTE. Distance is your friend. Don't trade shots unless you absolutely have to. If you are detected, RUN! Use cover as you fall back, get unspotted, and then strike again from another angle. Good luck out there.

Thanks guys, i got a few more games into it, i'm just having to learn a new'er playstyle with the complete turn and run when spotted. But the backing into cover i never thought of and can say its helped a few times.

I couldn't get this tank to work for me, either. 99 games, and I had a 44% win rate in it. I'm terrible at the Hellcat.
