Shit films have been most modern remakes of old films, shit "horror" films like Saw. I think the latest star wars was a bit..limp too. Just copied a new hope but instead of Vader we got an emo teenager prone to tantrums.
That choice might ruffle a few feathers.

The Longest Day has to be the best film ever, or pretty close, with a cast like that. The Bridge on the River Kwai as well.

I know you're a history buff SLB so you should watch Mountains of the Moon if you haven't already. Patrick Bergin was fantastic in that movie....and it's about the English Empire's discoveries.

Am i right in thinking some of those are war films? I remember seeing some when i was younger but only remember the names of 4: The Great Escape A Bridge Too Far Hunt The Bismarck! The Guns Of Navarone I forgot another film that i should have mentioned earlier, Zulu. Some of the Bond films were good too imho, Moon Raker and Goldeneye for examples, although Goldeneye was more due to Sean bean than Brosnan.

Yes R35T...The Longest Day, Patton (of course), The Bridge on the River Kwai and the Great Escape (POW Camp) were all war movies. You named another great one IMO.....A Bridge Too Far. I'd also have to think really hard to think of a Bond movie I didn't enjoy.
IMO....The Longest Day may have had one of the best casts ever assembled....John Wayne, Sean Connery, Henry Fonda, Robert Mitchum, Richard Burton, Eddie Albert and some other well know actors.

A Bridge Too Far I think is on a par with The Longest Day for historical accuracy and the cast: it also starred Sean Connery, as well as Michael Caine, Laurence Olivier, Edward Fox and Anthony Hopkins. I'd actually go so far as to say the cast was better. But no Kenneth More, who was pretty much a permanent fixture of 50s and 60s war films (he played the Irish beach master in the Longest Day).

The Last Samurai, Platoon, Kingdom of Heaven and The Quick and the Dead are some of my favorites. I always watch the classic war movies if I see them while flipping channels. Patton, Bridge on the River Kwai, Great Escape...

Some of the best films i've seen are Leon, The Hunt For The Red October, i liked Fith Element, Fallen, Silence of the lambs. Oh crap nearly forgot Alien, Aliens, and Predator. Saving private Ryan was also good, albeit grim, so was Castaway. Damn it R35T! Did you have to mention Aliens? I spent 2 hours watching a movie instead of trying to improve my WN8. Thanks

I'll go with what I've seen recently.
Deepwater Horizon - Great real life disaster film. Recommended
Sully - Some good acting and a decent recreation of the events of the Hudson River landing but it's kind of meh film. Watch it if you're bored
Suicide Squad - utter dog shit
The Blair Witch (2016) - One of the least scary horror movies I've ever seen. All the scares are clichéd and predictable which just kills the movie for me. Not worth your time
Apocalypse Now - War is hell. This movie is like Mad Max in Vietnam. Definitely worth going out of your way for
Rouge One - One of the best Star Wars movies to date, sits just behind Empire for me. This movie is full of expanded universe references so if your a Star Wars lore nerd this movie will provide you ample fan service. Buying this one when it comes out
