So after the month they had last month, WG now decide to change the graphics for a few days. Now, no matter what your opinion about them, that strikes me as absurd. Personally I don't like the comic look at all but hey.
Can you imagine if your Government said, 'fuck it, from now on you have to drive on the other side of the road but in reverse gear so we don't have to change the road signs", how crazy that'd be?
The graphics are something people love about the game and often comment on so to force the change is insane and at this time of year when most people are more likely to just go and jump into triple A games they've bought or had bought for them is just absolutely mad.
To be fair they've just announced reversing this but as Sqn Ldr B said, surely they could have predicted this would happen if there was no option other than to be forced to play.
Like many, it gave me a huge headache and eyestrain and my thinking is that the whole thing was a disaster.
What next, 'are they going to turn all our tanks into butterflies' or 'little ponies' or try us with an Anime look? The mind boggles.

Someone made a thread before it was implemented, asking if it was a good idea (or something along those lines). The majority of forumers that voted voted against it. So really, if they paid attention, they would have known that it wouldn't have gone down well.
That said, I'm glad they listened and turned the mode off.

Yes I am glad they switched them off. I played one game and that was enough. Adding it as an option would have been the smart move, but smart and wg seemed to have parted company.
On a side note; it seems to have been not just the forum, irrespective of the fanboys, trolls and annoying twats assertion that it was, that complained. I didn't suffer medically but it did hurt my eyes, but for once I actually believe that enough people genuinely had a bad reaction, which given Pains post, is what made them pull it.

Yes, I made that post/poll the day they announced it was coming. The results are a little skewed now because it was bumped and people voted post-implementation. But before it was implemented, it was at 65% "no". Still, if they read the comments, they would see that even those that voted "yes" or "no opinion" were partially basing their votes on the assumption that it was an optional mode a la toy tanks, Mark 1, etc. It was also made the same day Pain made a post concerning the black tanks and general dissatisfaction. I thought it would prompt a more in depth review of the mode. Your idea of making it an optional mode with the comic tanks was a great suggestion. This could have been a very positive event for WG. |

You do have to give them credit for responding within a business day to a problem like this

I think we can agree it was a stupid idea But You do have to give them credit for responding within a business day to a problem like this There were people who were physically unable to give them money while that mode was switched on, obviously they were going to fix it fast. :  : |
