I grinded my way up to the 48 patton months ago....and we all know that thing is dissappointing. However, I kept the 46, I remember it being awesome. I tried playing it yesterday and it was like a bull in a china shop. I sucked, bottom line. I even had the thing with a moe so I used to be able to drive it. Am I just retarded or was it nerfed?

I play mine maybe once every week, would play it more often if i didn't have other tanks to focus on. Nothing wrong with the M46, but not playing it for a while can make it take a few games to find the correct playstyle again.
Same goes for the Pershing.

It hasn't been nerfed, but it's certainly not the easiest tank to play well. It's one of my favorite tanks in the game, though.

Abuse that gun depression if you can. Be patient, and work ridgelines. Use that great view range and play spotter early game. Don't take risky shots early on, you want to preserve your HP for the late game. Take shots on distracted tanks. The base accuracy isn't the greatest, but it's really good at taking snap shots. Standard pen is kind of weak, so don't be afraid to use premium rounds. I use Rammer, Vert Stabs, and Optics on mine, as well as Cola instead of a fire extinguisher. You can swap optics for Vents if you want. A great crew also really helps this tank, if you have one.

Perfect. Thanks I see so many suggestions about using premium ammo and $20k-a-pop consumables. You can see that I'm still about average or below overall and I'm on a strict budget. Handicapping every game with an added 20K ante is spooky. I have forced myself to use premium ammo; but I still tend to loose a lot of $ doing so. (Especially in my T-32) I did get a premium account for Christmas and am seeing at least a 3-to-1 payback. What drives your decisions to use the high-priced consumables?

I run the Cola because it helps out with the accuracy a bit, as well as makes the reload faster. This tank is a DPM machine, and it really helps with the late game cleanup. That being said, my setup is definitely not cheap to run, and I rarely make decent silver in it. On a bad game, I end up losing quite a bit of silver.
