Lets say that they made it so that all premium tanks could be earned as well as purchased, with the grind to earn one being harder the higher the tier of tank, and a bit of a pain in general (to encourage people to just buy it). To earn one you have to get a certain amound of xp and/or kills with tanks of that nation (xp as that would encourage premium time purchases). As well as that, add cosmetics that could be purchased for tanks in general, logs, battle damage, camo nets and the like (cosmetic only to avoid P2W).
I think that would encourage people to play alot, it would give even long term players a goal (earn all tanks), it would still bring a profit, as people would still buy the tanks even if they can be earned (current ops and games like Warframe prove this) and WG would earn a fortune via the cosmetic purchases (again, Warframe, and micro transactions earn mobile games a fortune).
Extra added benefit of more premium tanks being used in game would be even more profits via camo, and xp conversion.
Good idea, bad idea, or not worthy as being used as toilet roll idea, what do you think?

I'd like it. It'd give me a change to grind to the premiums I want such as the T23E3, and it'd allow some customization.

I'd even like free camo's maybe you'd have to earn a certain amount of XP on the maps relevant to that Camo. But I think they'd have to earn a fair amount of XP for a free tank though, say 300-400k XP in tanks of the free ones Nation?

On the face of it I don't see any downside but you know someone on the shit forum would find something to bitch about if it were implemented. Whaa whaa whaa, I spent gold for it and now I could have gotten it free by grinding. I feel cheated. WG is blah, blah, blah...  Or, The grind is too hard. WG just wants to make us spend gold. WG is blah, blah, blah... You know the drill. |

"Make it Better" talk -- good. "Ain't it bad" talk -- like two babushkas at a bus stop. Unlike any other MMOG, I still can play for free and with just a little coin can actually have fun. And I don't get kicked out of the dungeon mid-game by the pros for failing as their meat shield. Even with XBOX Gold and WOT Premium accounts, we're talking less than $15/month with plenty of gold for pretty paint and clan logos. Unfortunately, no amount of money has made me a better player. "All thumbs for WOT"  PREMIUM TANK IDEA: Not sure I understand. If I can earn the tank, then its not premium. And generally, premiums aren't as good as their level counterpart. Are you saying that this would allow me to jump around the tech tree as long as I earn the XP & Kills within the national tree? That sounds cool! Bet WG would not like non-mechanic add-ons because they seem to be pushing these gold tanks with nothing to offer but special paint and decorations. This forum could polish the idea and petition WG for a try. More signatures, more weight. |
