I can't decide if I need an IS-6. All the reviews for it are glowing, but it seems like it has low-ish pen for the tier. Right now my highest tier Russian heavies are the T-150 & KV-2, but I intend to progress up to the ST-I at least. Unsure if I need this. Opinions?
My current premiums:
T3 - T-127, SU-76i
T5 - LeFH18B2, Ram II, Churchill III
T6 - T-34-88, SU-100y, Knight, Snakebite
T7 - E-25, Scorpion, Hammer
T8 - T26E4, Panther 88, FCM 50t, CDC, Motherland

I'd go for it. The pen isn't great so i take a 50/50 AP/prem loadout. With that, my IS-6 doesn't tend to struggle. It's 1 of the more reliable premiums performance wise due to the good armour. Just try not to get in a 1v1 with an E-75 and it does fine.

It's not quite the same unstoppable monstrosity it was two years ago, but it's still an extremely strong tank that requires almost no effort to play 'well'.
Well worth the price IMO.

I have the IS-6. Can be fun. Have to watch for certain tanks. The gun can have good moments and bad. I've managed to hit the commander hatch of a tortious from about 250-350m while bouncing a few shots. The reload can get at times though. It can make you good silver.

I never previously had the IS-6 so I got the Black one. I like it. Got the first mark @ 68 battles yesterday. Seems to perform exactly as expected from what I have read & heard.

I love the STA-2 Black.
Great little tank and I enjoy it very much.
Plus it fucking rakes in silver, even with the food consumable I have on it.
