Corbyn is a bit like Trump polarises people both for and against him but without the Charisma, without any Public Speaking Ability and without any bollocks. On one thing he is Trumps polar opposite. He's a member of CND and believes the UK doesnt need an army and that we can deal with morons like Daesh and Syria at the Negotiating Table. Echoes of Neville Chamberlain.

It pains me because I remember a time when the world was different, and my three sons, you, and your and their children will never know a world different than the ideological struggle we're in.

It's possible they will. What I think is happening now is something akin to an Islamic Reformation. (Radical jihadis vs. Normal muslims) The Reformation of Christianity wasn't painless either.

I'd love to see a reformation, and there are some moderates calling for it. However, IMO, the silent majority, if it exists, needs to push harder. Organizations in the US, such as CAIR - Council on American-Islamic Relations, could have a huge influence regarding outreach throughout the Muslim world on behalf of moderates, but they are amazingly silent for the most part.

Trouble is the moderate skittles are not bothered about reforming it. They believe the same things the radical skittles believe, they just don't take up the sword to spread it.

Has he never heard the phrase " those who beat their swords into plowshares will plow for those who don't" Hes a Member of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. Came out and claimed he'd never give the launch order. But doesnt understand that the UK has spent the last 70 years requiring our leaders to do just that. Hes also a member of the Peace Corps and would sell this once great nation down the river.

That's all the counter argument you need with him. He's got good policies on some things, but he's too radical on defence and military issues, so he's unelectable as far as I'm concerned. Add on to that the fact that he's a republican and you've basically got the antichrist.

True, but not in my, my son's or your lifetime. No need to be so fatalistic though, this isn't going to last forever. Extremism isn't sustainable. It lacks the coherence to form an actual entity. Even if they manage to take over the entire Middle East the whole shabang would eventually collapse in on itself, and that's if the Russians don't wipe the floor with them first. I'm sure even Putin can see them for the evil they are, and as soon as they topple his friend Assad he'll be straight in there to kick the shit out of them. They're basically surrounded by countries that could all smash their heads in as soon as they start messing with them. Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Iran are all the types of countries that will quickly kick someone's teeth out as soon as they start getting messed with.

Hell...I landed in a plane with 63 holes shot into it. Every day above ground is a damn good day. I'm not fatalistic, just realistic. I'm going to enjoy life as long as I'm still kicking.
Two of the countries you listed...either openly or covertly support religious extremism/terrorism in some manner, and one seems to slowly tipping away from a secular state.

Yeah, I know, but as soon as ISIS tries to fuck with Turkey or Iran or the Saudis they're going to get their head caved in.

My worry is that some wacko will get their hands on all those nukes that W claimed was a valid reason to invade Iraq. Maybe this belongs in the US politics thread?
