I had another ass hat tell me about all the years he had studying WW2 tactics when I questioned his position on the battlefield. These kind of guys are my favorite. Sit in the back corner, hide in a bush, and wait for death. But that's what Rommel would do, right?
Then he gives me my favorite line in the whole game, "that's why I'm still alive and you're dead." Me in my light tank him in his TD. But then when the game is over and I finish 8 places higher than him, suddenly there is silence.
Good thing this is a VIDEO GAME not simulation. I would be lost without having any knowledge of Patton's use of the 304th tank brigade. What a douchebag..

Last time I was nice and asked the base camping/ sniping T29 in the tier 7 map to pick a flank and move up & use your armor to help more, he was last alive, got 4 kills and #2 damage and never left his rock by the spawn... How can you argue with that.
Same with a lot of people saying to stay together, better chances together. These sound like 30-50 year old men too. They've become accustomed to a play style that they think works and they've accepted it. No changing.

I was thinking in terms of platoons not lemming trains. I seem to be the poor dumbass on the other side of the map whenever I see a lemming train on the mini map. I'm working on the whole situational awareness thing to help mitigate that problem. |

I was thinking in terms of platoons not lemming trains. I seem to be the poor dumbass on the other side of the map whenever I see a lemming train on the mini map. I'm working on the whole situational awareness thing to help mitigate that problem. I'm with you there. I end up by myself on a flank far too often. I pick the spot I should my tank and the game type, go like hell, check the map and see that help is 300 meters away and going the opposite direction. |

These guys have to see the reds on the mini map and not in their sights, right? If they would just move up a little, just a wee bit..more points for us all! Nothing worse than having half the reds lit up in my scout and no spot assists. It's only a matter of time before the reds figure out none of my team is shooting at them. Then I'm toast.
And who is in the back corner? Mr.TD and his puppy heavy tank having a camp fire eating s'mores.

Monty, Ike, Patton, Zhukov all favoured pushing but only when the odds were in their favour. Rommel and Guderian favoured total war where all arms acted as one. Or maybe Von Runstedt and Petain. Sit still and wait for the enemy to either encircle you or establish a beachhead before reacting. |

Those are good but my favorite the self appointed "Artillery Guarders". Had a nice discussion with one yesterday. I tried to explain that if the artillery is spotted, their dead. If you want to really help the artillery, then move up and take out any tanks before they are spotted.
He wanted none of that. Nope. I knew nothing about strategy.

Those are good but my favorite the self appointed "Artillery Guarders". Had a nice discussion with one yesterday. I tried to explain that if the artillery is spotted, their dead. If you want to really help the artillery, then move up and take out any tanks before they are spotted. He wanted none of that. Nope. I knew nothing about strategy. You should point out that by the time the enemy has reached the rear 9 times out of 10 its going to end badly for you. Unless you are the 101st Airborne or units of the US 10th Armoured Division. |
