After seeing the picture of the soldier making faces at the camera in the "Pics" thread I was moved to pull out a couple of old photo albums for a trip down memory lane. These photos aren't "Historical" to anyone but me so mods feel free to move the thread to a more appropriate place if you feel the need. Please excuse the sepia effect. The pics are from the mid 70's and are like me are showing their age. This is my first time attempting to post photos so bear with me if it doesn't work as well as planned. Russian BTR150 (IIRC) Intelligence kept some captured Russian equipment around for us to train with/against. "Binos Up" Ignore my buddy with the shaving cream on his face. It was morning and we were getting ready for another day of adjusting arty. The BC scope in the background is what is really on the ground when the tank commander announces "Binos up". "Camo Net Up" Camo nets were more for hiding from aircraft than they were for hiding from things on the ground. There's a 13 ton Mortar Carrier parked under this one. Continued below.

I think I'm getting the hang of this. For the Arty haters. Adjusting 155 rounds. This was one of the observation towers we used on the range. Note the damage around the opening below the upper level. I believe that was done either during the war or right after by Allied troops. Attachments:

OK, not sure how the attachment made it onto the bottom of the last reply. Maybe I'm not getting the hang of it. Below are a few pics of the kind of trouble a bunch of teenagers can get into when turned loose with millions of dollars of equipment. There was a ditch traversing the field. I didn't see it... The vehicle is just over 6' tall. If memory serves it took 2 other tracks to pull it out of the mud. This is what happens when you're "tracked" while rolling full bore down an incline. Result was 1 broken collar bone and numerous bangs and bruises. Attachments:
