I've got a brand new Focus with flappy paddles and the wife has a sporty Mini Convertable. I'm saving for a 3.2 1986 Porsche 911 Turbo with the Whale Tail, think I'll have to wait until the wife gets bored of Mini's though as she's on about the new Coupe now. Bloody women!! As you can probably guess I didn't get my Porsche and the wife got her Mini Coupe, it's goes like a rocket though as its light as fuck and has a 2.0 turbo diesel in it. On the plus side though I pick up my new VW Tiguian next month.

2013 GMC Terrain, my old 2003 Caddy deville gave up the ghost this week so we bought a 2018 Buick Encore for her and I took the terrain.

2008 F150. 5.4 Triton V8, FX4 offroad package. Super clean on the inside. Got it for a really good deal, too. Now I just need to find a camper I can pull behind it.

2008 F150. 5.4 Triton V8, FX4 offroad package. Super clean on the inside. Got it for a really good deal, too. Now I just need to find a camper I can pull behind it. I'm envious somewhat although, it might be too snug a fit for my smallish garage. We don't see F series pickups down under very often or really large pickups in general. We have the Ford Ranger Raptor in 2.0L diesel relatively new and I think the 2WD version of the F150 but more commonly, the standard Ford Ranger with a 3.5L Diesel Engine which is similar looking to the F150 but the F150 is much larger, and has very different engine and drivetrain components. Toyota tends to be the preferred vehicle in off road Australia with the Toyota Landcruiser 70 series and it's 4.5L twin turbo V8 tending and stupidly low end performance and simplicity tends to dominate but physically, I think the F150 is a larger vehicle. I mentioned I'm a little envious and I am. My daily driver has a factory cassette player fitted. The other vehicle is a Korean made 7 seater soft roader, premium AWD. There are times when wanting to get away, that a low range, 4X4 with suspension and drive train worthy of the title might allow me to do that and explore a bit more of the country. To your vehicle. How is the FX4 package in the F150 different to the F150 Raptor? Is it styling? Down under, the Ranger Raptor look quite different and perform very differently, there's a massive price difference too. This might sound strange but one thing I do like is the idea that it has proper mud flaps. So many vehicles don't these days, they have these stupid moulded things which don't work properly. I note there's no front number plate? I assume, it's regionally not required? I don't like the colour - I mean, I like the colour, it's just one of those colours which my brain often doesn't see very well when there's a bit of shadow around. It's what I would call larger than the typical blend into the deeper shadows type vehicle so probably not an issue. Good price, clean, straight and well serviced vehicle exceeds colour in every way that I can think of in the second hand market mind you. I don't know much about the engine at all. I did a bit of a google and I note we have it listed as a 5.4L Petrol engine, not 330CI engine which have the same displacement. This is peculiar because all of the performance specs are not metric but imperial, yet capacity is metric but also because for some reason, I'm accustomed to capacity being imperial and can relate to displacement values for cars in cubic inches 302 or 351 engines for example. The Japanese influence though has me thinking 2 wheel engine and other relatively small motors(, Outboard Engine, lawn mowers/chainsaws etc) in cubic centimetres. I'm too ignorant to translate figures of Torque, overall power and fuel economy. from imperial to metric. The engine though is not something we see down under in 4X4 circles and tends to be closer to what I'd associate with a Ford muscle/street car and perfect for supercharging. I've been brainwashed a bit, when it comes to 4X4 performance to believe that diesel engines tend to provide low end torque more readily than petrol and that's probably true in a classical sense but with all of the modern technology built into the package these days it probably doesn't make as much difference as it used to. There's no reason why it couldn't work well in an off road pickup if kitted with the appropriate drive train and gearbox and tuned appropriately. The vehicle is probably more than capable of towing just about anything with the right hitch through just about any terrain effortlessly while all occupants sit quite comfortably in relative climate controlled luxury. Being a large vehicle with lots of drag and having a very large petrol engine, I'd hate to think of the fuel economy or how much it would cost to run but, if I could afford comfortably, I probably wouldn't be phased by that. Again, I did read some figures in mpg but I failed to translate properly from the metric L/100kms I'm used to. How do you secure your firearms when on a bit of a trip? Do you need to bolt on a storage locker/cabinet to secure them or do you only take one or two and keep them close to your person when away from the vehicle?

Do you need to bolt on a storage locker/cabinet to secure them or do you only take one or two and keep them close to your person when away from the vehicle? I'm honestly not sure what all the FX4 package offers, other than a beefier suspension. I dont plan to take it offroad much. I do know that the Raptor wasn't offered in 2008, so maybe the Raptor package replaced the FX4? I'd have to look it up. The 5.4 was the biggest gas v-8 offered in the F150 in 2008. It was basically a beefier version of the 4.6 Ford modular engine. It obviously gets worse fuel economy than the 4.6, but I'm not concerned, since I wont be driving it all the time. We basically got it because we are looking at buying a camper, and needed something to pull it with. As for firearms, I haven't had any in the truck yet. I don't have a concealed carry permit, so I can't legally keep a carry gun in it. If you're asking about just taking the guns to the range, all I need to do is keep them in their cases unloaded in the back seat. As long as the cases aren't hidden and I inform any officer that stops me about their presence, it's perfectly legal. I dont have a license plate on the front only because I haven't gotten down to the courthouse and officially registered the truck yet. Once I've done that, I'm required to have both front and back plates.

Wow, talk about a thread necro, almost a year since the last post. Here's my newest addition, with a before and after shot of the work we did to it. Before: After: I'm looking at the Isuzu badge and thinking, I know that vehicle model but not as an Isuzu. It was sold as a Holden(GM division) branded Jackeroos down under through the 90s and early 21st century. I don't know much about them mechanically but I suppose it depends on what bits are in it. While not of the pedigree of some of the other 4X4s out there, it was considerably more affordable and not completely useless as can be seen in the video.

Once I've done that, I'm required to have both front and back plates. I didn't know the concealed carry expanded to vehicle transport. But there's plenty that I don't know so I shouldn't be too surprised by that. I was thinking more along the lines of going some distance to hunt for a few days but needing to stop for fuel or supplies on the way which meant leaving the vehicle and that you might need to secure the weapons securely and out of sight. I would imagine it's absolutely sensible to inform a police officer that there are weapons present and they know where your hands are. FX4 Vs Raptor, I was reading www.fordf150.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=78048 which hints at diff ratio and suspension differences but I suspect there might be some other differences too, mechanical, cosmetic and electronic. Nice straight and clean truck(we use the term 4WD Utility or UTE or just 4WD) and with a strong heavy chassis and plenty of ponies up front, it shouldn't be limited too much when it comes to towing. Ahhh the great outdoors, open roads and freedom!

Yeah, Isuzu sold the blueprints to several companies and it was sold under somewhere around 10 different names. It was sold as a Chevrolet Trooper over in Europe I believe, the Jackaroo in Australia and New Zealand, about 5 different names over in the Asia's, and was even sold here in the US as both the Isuzu Trooper and the Acura SLX. I haven't done much off-roading with it yet aside from getting to a campsite on a dirt road, but when we got 3 feet of snow this winter it drove like a champion.

Occupation: Policeman Hobbies: Internet Bully/Trolling Firearms Motorcycle: Yes It's official, Jester has a small cock..... Can’t say I’m really shocked seeing posts like this from you Yankees. Seems you’ve truly become that person that hides and lurks in the shadows taking digs or jabs at people before running back behind cover or into the shadows for safety where you’ll lurk again for weeks or months until you crawl back out again. Were you lashing out in an arbitrary thread this time because the breadwinner told you to put the Bon Bons and the controller down because she needed a gallon of milk and a stick of butter for supper? It’s my own opinion, but I think your description of “bullying” is certainly a stretch given that we’re all anonymous, pretty much all adults and all have the same equal opportunity to push back on statements or positions from others on this forum we don’t agree with. There are lots of others on this forum that get along just fine even though they have opposing politics and beliefs. You seem to be the only one I can think of here that can’t get past it. Regardless, I hope you can find a safe space, place in your life where you don’t feel so singled out or bullied or grow some thicker skin. Good luck.

Whether you agree with his politics or not, jumping on here only to insult him and then immediately leave seems petty at best. Don't they say that the first person to resort to insults in an argument has lost, since it means they can't prove their point through facts or logical debate?
