I recently picked up the Knight due to it pretty much being the only option for a reliable British crew trainer (aside from the Excelsior) and I'm having some pretty middling games in it. It took me a while to learn the Cromwell play style and it's been a while since I've played it so it seems I have forgotten.
I'm running with Optics, GLD, and Vents and using my Conq crew mostly with BiA, Sixth Sense, Repairs, Safe Stowage, and Track Mechanic while training up Jack of All Trades. I'm trying to play it as a lightish flanker but the results aren't quite what I would like.
Any help is appreciated.

I guess the only thing I would change is swapping the GLD for rammer. It's not accurate enough to be sniping from long range, and once you get in close to circle, you'll want the quicker reload. Otherwise, preserve your hit points and and savage them while they're distracted.

I'm thinking this tank is a match made in heaven for snap shot and smooth ride. Too bad it can't mount V-Stab - the OPness would be epic.

Ditch GLD for a rammer. It's basically a light tank, you don't want to be sitting still often enough for the GLD to be used, so the rammer is the better choice.

Exactly what the others have said. Equipment should be... vents, coated optics and rammer.
Skills should be; Sixth sense, brothers in arms, snap shot, smooth ride, offroad driving, situational awareness, repairs, track mechanic, dead eye, always training mentor.
Unfortunately the conqueror skill requirements are a bit different from the Knights ideal skills but some of the major ones are common.
The mobility of this tank combined with the awesome DPM it can deal makes it a lethal flanker. Use its speed to find and exploit flanks. If you can't get to a spot you can exploit then relocate. This tank can deal an awesome amount of damage quickly and has the speed to pop in and out of cover quickly. Also if you get a lone tank (or two) its pretty easy to circle them making you very hard to hit.
