I've been playing support tanks a lot lately (T69 and just bought Lorraine), staying with a group and maneuving to get shots in...so as not to get aggro. My teams keep evaporating around me. The matches start pretty good most times. Flanks after covered. Engagements where'd you'd expect. I start maneuvering to get shots in. Next thing you know, in 30 seconds, 6 greens down. I retreat, try to regroup and get some shots in before the inevitable.. It doesn't even make me mad or frustrated. It's just...happening...a lot.

I've noticed a distinct trend now. A significant majority of games I've played are either a (roughly) 15-2 or 3 win, oe the same as a loss. There are very rarely games that are down to the wire, most often one team explodes of their own accord, and the game is over in less than 2-3 minutes.
Its quite intruiging actually. Is this matchmaking stacking one team? Or is this one team just being impossibly stupid and horrible at this game. I'm an average player, but how 10 players can get themselves killed in 2 minutes is well beyond my comprehension.

It might have been owl, but forget who, essentially said that there is often a cascading effect. An encounter happens, say 5v5. Two reds are quickly focused fired; maybe they overextended. Then its 5v3 in just 30 seconds, and the five can more easily best the three. The skill of the remnants only impacts the time it takes for the inevitable except when some unis are involved which really isn't that often. Next thing you know, flank gone.

In my experience, it seems to not work as well when it's 5v5 if you each pick individual targets. Seems to work better if your 5 focus fires one or two of the reds at the time to reduce the number of guns quickly. 'tooning with Owl has helped me when it's 1v2 to figure out whether it's better to shoot the low health tank, or deal with the high/full health tank first (basically, which one is more dangerous to me).

Ive come across this many times. Normally im playing my M36 Jackson. I always stick with someone random for ,the most common encouter, the quicker tank taking the bait when i back off. I take a hit and the random team member and myself hit the enemy hard enough that he doeant chance being hit again. Instead of worrying about which one is more lethal thats how i correct my situations, granted with opportunities permitted lol.
