I'm curious what everyone has on their grilled cheese sandwiches..... mine is usually jalapenos and shredded bacon with the cheese, any good combinations out there?

Grilled cheese with tomato soup is always a winner in my book. But I did have one grilled chees where it was a regular grilled cheese with Mozzarella sticks in the center. It was really good.

Pickles, mayo and american cheese. Cooked in a ton of butter.
Almost as good as a peanut butter and butter sandwhich.

The last couple times I grilled a sandwich I did something different. I think it will be the new norm for our home. For even browning with a bit of crunch to it, similar to the crust on French toast, just slather the top and bottom of your grilled cheese sandwich with mayonnaise just as one normally would use butter.

Usually just with cheese, but I like the idea of pickles in it! You also can't go wrong with a good bowl of tomato soup.

With a large piece of ground dead cow in the middle...plus grilled onions and jalapenos. I call it a hamburger. It's my favorite.

Am I the only one here confused by the people dipping it in stuff? It's a sandwich, how and why would you dip it in sauces? Is this an American thing?

Dipping things in Ranch may be a uniquely American thing...but it shouldn't be. I am 90% sure dipping things in ranch is the gateway to being obese. It makes anything taste good...except maybe cheesecake. Actually. I'm not sure that would be horrible. I'll have to try that. /s Dipping a grilled cheese in tomato sauce is just right. Sort of like peanut butter and jelly...it just works.
