SpartacusDiablo....You like F-14s? Here's a couple sitting on the side as R14 comes in for a landing on the USS Saratoga. I was an Electronic Warfare Operator in EA-3Bs and EP-3Es from 1987-1997 and flew just over 5,367 hours worth of missions. Saw some amazing stuff through the Cold War, Desert Shield/Storm, Bosnia and other places unmentionable. I've added a few more pics that I like- Finnish Mig (just before they took delivery of their F-18s) and Bart of Arabia that I flew during Desert Storm.

Here's one of my Squadron's EP-3E that slid off the runway in Crete (total loss- only one hurt ankle on my buddy), our 7 plane fly-by during the EA-3B retirement ceremony the Fall of 91 after Desert Storm and tanking off of a A-7 Corsair during Desert Shield.

EA-6Bs we flew with off the USS America (we conducted SEAD- Suppression of Enemy Air Defense with them). A pic of a Helix on a Kresta in the Med in 1988 along with a pic of a IL-38 Russian May we intercepted off the coast of Libya.

A low fly-by of one of our ARIES II birds, Bart of Arabia with two MIG-29 silhouettes after they tried to intercept us the second night of Desert Storm in Western Iraq and we vectored in two F-15s. The last one is our hangar in Rota Spain.

I'm going to bore you guys, but you got me all jazzed up!!! An old EC-121 Super Constellation. This plane was replaced by the EP-3E. The North Koreans shot one of these down in April of 69. All 31 Navy personnel were lost. One of our VQ-2 birds in Bahrain (Our EA-3Bs were deployed with the USS Kennedy battle group out of the Red Sea). If you look just to the right of the nose radome you can see the silhouettes of all the missile systems they had destroyed. The inside of my EP-3E- I operated the Biglook System (the big black M&M you see in the 2nd pic) in the second seat you see from the front. This is the same type of aircraft (our sister Squadron) that collided with the Chinese MIG J-8II (copy of the Mig-21) Finback in 2001. Intercepts were far more common than we hear about in the news. I need to find my pics of all the MIGs with missiles all over them.
