So the T32 sets the turret armor standards pretty high for tier VIIIs, but thats all it has. The top gun is a tier VIII 105mm, the same top gun on the T29. It has 198mm of penetration which pales in comparison to other Tier VIII heavies. Compare it to the tiger II, only 50 more health than the T32, gets a 105mm as its top gun. The Tiger's 105 is a tier IX with 215 penetration, only 17 more than the T32, but that 17mm of penetration is enough to make a huge difference.
In all honesty the T32 feels like a heavier pershing that isn't the SP, it only has 8mm more of pen on its 105 than the pershing's top 90mm.

I think you're being a bit harsh. The gun only becomes a liability at tier X, and in that case you shoot it's excellent APCR round. It's fairly mobile, the upper plate can induce some well angled bounces, and the big 'ol Murican tracks make sidescraping viable. Then there is that turret: a mantlet with 600mm of effective armor means you can hull down and lock up a whole flank. Don't forget the outrageous 400m view range. With optics and BiA, you can surpass the hard cap and melt camo.
No, it doesn't get a great boomstick (although it's not bad), but it's got some other excellent traits that make it one of the best heavies in the game.

I used to enjoy the T32, but that was in beta. Tried it again recently and wasn't keen, it felt very mediocre imho.

T-32 is awesome! It's fun is fine against tier 8s and alpha that allows you to not lose money shooting premium at higher tiers. Getting Hull Down will have tier 10 TDs bounce your turret, truly a fun tank. Not to mention its mobile
