My favourite Medium up to now, possibly my favourite tank has been the T20, a tank which is so versatile and flexible, it's just a joy to play.
I've had a T54 for a while but due to playing solo mostly and the frequency and cost of bad teams at tiers 9 and 10 and my own lack of skill, hadn't played it much.
However, I watched a hilarious review of it by SirFoch in which he said the immortal line 'If it wasn't for the lack of depression, you'd kill the whole enemy team on your own but as it is, you'll only kill half of them'.
He makes a number of other very humorous statements about it and while I can't see myself 'killing the whole enemy team' on my own or even half of them often, this tank is a beast.
It's early days but in the last couple of days it's taken my play from average/good to very good/Purple. I've had to get used to not being hit in the T20 and this is a skill that transfers well to the T54.
It has many of the advantages of the T20, such as speed, excellent pen (especially when using Premium) and only lacks the aforesaid depression.
I'm pretty sure there'll be some experts on the T54 here though, so if you have any videos or tips, please share.
And if anyone here wants to create a T54 platoon whether you're in the Bunker Clan or not, I'd love to. My skills aren't as bad as they used to be and I'm now seeing very good/great sessions regularly even the occasional Purple session and that's solo. So running with a few other T54 fans or experts from the forum or clan here would be brilliant.

I'm always up for platooning, Zulu. I've not long unlocked The T-54... Actually unlocked the 140 now, which is like the T-54, only better. Equipment I've went with is rammer, vents and vert stabs. I'm usually on all day, but not feeling too great today, so I've stopped. But just hit me up here or on Xbox and we'll sort something out.
Oh... I should probably mention.. I'm on the ONE.

I just got the T-54 myself. As soon as I over train my soviet MT crew I'll take it out of the garage (I'll try to get this taken care of tonight). I'm happy to platoon with anyone who isn't a total flaming douche...so no arty.

I'd be up for platooning Zulu. With the T-54, I run with rammer, vert stab and optics. I have repair kit, first aid and rations, and I take a 50/50 AP/HEAT loadout because it's evil and fun.

To those who haven't got one yet, go and watch this video by SirFoch, and you'll get an idea of how good this tank really is. It's also a hilarious video and his style is brilliant
It truly is as Sir Foch says. I've gone with Rammer, Vents and Verts with Consumables and skipped the First Aid Kit as I have Jack of All Trades trained. With around six or seven other skills, this turns the tank even more into a machine of utter destruction and I have no doubt that in hands more skilled than mine, it would be truly amazing.
I was a flaming douche but now drive mostly Mediums and love 'em. I'd reroll my account if I had the choice but I'm fucked if I'm going to go through all that shit again.
I'll keep an eye out for you guys who'd like to platoon in these things, and send some friend requests. I'm thinking a few of these working together would be a shitload of fun.

Step 1: Load tons of HEAT Step 2: Spam it mercilessly Step 3: Do not profit.  Honestly, though, it is a fantabulous tank and I'd be more than happy to run them with ya any time (have about 100K XP to go to get the T-62A). I have both the One and 360.  (To be totally honest, while I love my T-54, the E-50 might surpass it in terms of fave medium simply because it's equipped with a freaking laser cannon. I rarely like a tank at first, but am really in love with that e-fiddy.) |

I finally unlocked and purchased the T-54 today. One question.. I see it has two 100mm guns to choose from. Which do you prefer? I plan on keeping this tank on the way to the Obj. 140 but I'll grind out the T-54B package if it's the better choice. Any thoughts on this please? I haven't even played the tank yet. I'm just curious.

My gt is Halo Snowman I wouldn't use the GLD on a T-54. I would replace that with a Rammer to increase the rate of fire. A tank like that wants to kick out as much firepower as possible. |

My gt is Halo Snowman Get rid of the GLD and put on a rammer would be the first thing I'd suggest -- the aim time isn't that bad, and you'll already get a boost from the vents. (I also run rations on mine, but I have a really good crew in it, so fires aren't a concern tbh). I've got to do some 360 friends list adjustments this week, but once I do I'll add ya and be more than happy to platoon up.  |
