TL;DR.. A Jageroo can pen my turret easily?
Hello all,
I'm wondering about my performance in a match last night and I figured I'd ask here. I recently unlocked the IS-7 and I have only maybe 20 matches in it at the moment. So obviously I am still learning the proper way to handle the tank. I like it so far though.
Here's what happened..
Last night I got a match on Himmelsdorf, south spawn. I know going hull down is a good idea in this tank so I immediately went to that alley up the 8 line, the one where there's always a big fight, right below the castle. I went hull down behind that sloped pile of rubble, and it seemed like a strong position. It seemed like a dream come true in fact because not soon after I got in postion, I lit up six enemies at thier end of the alley. Several enemies being hull down behind thier pile of rubble. I was doing fine, shuffling back and forth, wiggling my turret in between shots and not exposing my pike nose. It was like bounce heaven. I was bouncing like crazy for a time. I was taking some good shots too, I took out the opposing IS-7 (with some help) by shooting through his upper plate where those headlights rest when he kept presenting that as a flat surface to me. My allies were behind me and supporting me perfectly. I was penning two hull down E-100's by hitting those little cylindrical things up on top of the turret. Like I said, it was a dream come true for a time. Unfortunately that came to an end when a Jageroo went hull down behind thier allies husk soon after. I managed to pen him twice in the commander's hatch even though he was moving back and forth. The problem was, when he stopped angling, pointed at me and fired, he penned my turret every time. I was wiggling, going back and forth and was basically dancing my butt off when I saw him getting ready to fire but to no avail. I was definitely hull down with my pike hidden. I couldn't retreat easily because there were still several enemies engaging me.
Could I have done something different or does the Jageroo just have the ability to reliably pen my turret? He penned me three shots in a row and ended my best game yet in the IS-7. I ended up blocking nearly 7k, dealt over 3k damage and over 3K assisted. I swear if that Jageroo wasn't there I would've had my best game ever, period.
What did I do wrong or could have improved? Any thoughts on this? Please understand that I'm not mad, if the Jageroo can just pen me like that then I understand that something has to be able to crack my turret to be fair.
Anyhow, thanks for reading team and I appreciate any thoughts on this. One thing that comes to mind.. avoid Jageroos! At least from the front that is.
