My tier 10s consisted of the E5 and the Deathstar up until a few days ago. I had resigned myself to stopping the Brit mediums at the 7/1 because I had not read much praise for the 4202 along my journey except a few great players singing its praises occasionally. Well, I couldn't help myself a few days ago when the tier 9 operation had me finish off my xp grind on the 7/1, so I bought the 4202.
Now, I only have 3 battles in, but I feel like this tank is teaching me to battle in tier 10 better than any previous tier 9 I've played/playing and certainly better than the E5 or DS (which I will never get the hang of).
im averaging 2500+ damage for the 3 battles, but last night, I had a 1900+ damage with 4200 assist battle. I stayed behind a hillock on the south east corner of Severagorsk and "worked" it using my view range and gun depression. I had a random E75 and waffle in support. I moved up after 3 threats were eliminated to hit a KV4 for the second to last hit he required to die. I then flanked the ST-1 that remained on that corner and hit him for two shots before the E75 finished him.
Now, I know my average stats will likely go down in this tank because I'm just not that good (consistently), but I find this tank to be a good tank if played patiently. It's not considered the pride of tier 10 mediums, but I'm glad I couldn't resist purchasing it.

Thanks for sharing bullpup. I'm at the Comet now and have been conflicted on the decision to continue the grind. I'm leaning toward moving up based on wanting a challenge, but also due to ancillary input from forumers like you.

Again, we all know I'm not that good, but I've thoroughly enjoyed both Centurions and now the 4202...my favorite thing to do in this game is hill fight and these Brits, the Caern., and the high tier Japanese mediums are all extremely fun hill fighters. Get a city map though....oh boy, buckle up your chin strap!!

BTW...I could give a rats ass about anyone's stats or capability as long as they are enjoying themselves. This is only a game...and their are multiple ways to have fun playing it.

Interesting stat for you...I have two tanks of all I own/owned that I have a 4000+ spotting assist battle(s) in: the 7/1 and the 4202!! I have a lot of tanks with a 3000+ spotting assist battle(s)...the type 61 is on that list. I'm looking forward to that STB-1 sometime during the summer (I still need somewhere in the neighborhood of 180k on the 61).

I really liked them all too. I have not gotten the hang of the 4202 yet buy my platoon mate (exhaustedman) routinely gets 4000+ damage games in his so it shows me there is nothing at all wrong with the tank. I have the O-140 and yeah it and the batchat are a lot easier to use but there is something about the 4202 that keeps me playing it. BTW, I kept the Comet, love that tank.

I stopped playing the 4202 shortly after I got it. It didn't fit my style. Its a pretty bad tier X tank but that's mainly because so many tier X tanks are ridiculous. Over all I found it to be a pretty decent tank. It would be an awesome tank if its top speed were better. I play (or when I use to play) way to aggressively and I could not get it to work for me in that aspect. I've seen it played very well agressively but not by me lol. All in all its a good choice for a tier X since you are limited on choices in your garage. If you can do well in it You should be able to wreck shit in other tier X mediums. Get good in the 4202 and then get another tier X medium and you will understand why people call them "eazyums" or however those losers spell it.

Agree a slight acceleration buff along with a top speed increase would really change this tank for the better and put i on par with the other mediums.

I don't know if I would go so far as to say "on par" but it would really help allow it to contend a little better. Most of the other mediums are very good. The best part of the 4202 is the premium ammo. I never really utilized it when I played the 4202 because I was still a purist back then and felt superior to gold spammers. Those days are long gone lol

As I have said before the main thing I wish would change is for it to swap that nearly useless Premium HESH for HEAT. It costs a lot, doesn't do all that much more damage than its standard APCR shell, and has much worse pen. The standard HESH it also gets will do nearly anything it can do at a fifth of the price. With HEAT it would gain a bit more punch against heavy armor.

Nothing like hitting someone for 500 in a medium tank.

Nothing like hitting someone for 500 in a medium tank. The thing is, most of the time when you do that the standard HESH would do just as well and at a much cheaper price. On average it will penetrate the rears of most tanks. And particularly on the high tier tanks if you shoot at the sides you'll hit spaced armor or wide tracks which will eat either HESH so you might as well feed it the cheap stuff. The Premium HESH is so situational in when it will actually perform better than the basic stuff I would rather have the HEAT to help against the heavy armored things you can't easily flank.
