I'm looking to get myself another tier 8 silver bought medium to go with my Pershing and I thought about the T-44. Noww I'm not too bothered if it's not as good as others and I've always liked the look of the T-44, but I've not played it for so long that I've forgotten what it's like.
If anyone still has it or info about it, could they let me know what it's like before I fork out the silver for it please?

It's fast, pretty good camo, good accurate gun, meh armor that does bounce off the hull if angled well. It's my favorite tier 8 medium, probably tied with the Pershing but serves a different purpose, I think. The Pershing has the upper hand in view range so it can sit back and snipe, but the T44 is best used as a fast flanker. Carry lots of gold ammo as the pen is kinda weak. Also the ammo rack is weak but that's Russian mediums.

It's a big improvement over the T-43, with the T-54 being a big improvement over it.
Not a keeper for me, but not a bad tank either.

I don't recommend running the 122 on it -- the reload is timed with a Mayan calendar and it has arty like accuracy.
It's a HUGE upgrade over the T-43, giving you armor that will bounce a round at surprising times and a pretty accurate gun for a Soviet -- I found it very reliable. Probably more so than any other Soviet tank I have other than the 140. You do need prem rounds for tier X games, but that's the case with almost any tier VIII, so no biggie there.
I actually just moved a crew back into mine so I had another standard tier VIII (only have the Pershing and T-32 with a crew, and I don't like the 32 all that much to be honest) and can unlock the last engines on it (which I didn't do going up to the T-54, as they aren't needed).
Would be more than willing to run them with ya sometime. Just hit me up on Xbox (I should be on tonight).

T-44 is a beast, it's mobile, has good gun depression for a USSR tank (7 degrees with the 100mm) and it's alpha can troll enemies really hard, I've rolled for 300 quite a few times in it, not to mention you can get away with sidescraping occasionally in it.
Only downfall really aside from the pen is that it doesn't come in pure black.

Fun tank in my opinion because of the camo rating and its small stature. However it is unremarkable in dpm(using the 100mm) and gun performance in general. I kind of use as a jack of all trades master of none opportunistic sniper. Armor can troll sometimes because of the angle but you shouldn't expect it to bail you out. I ended up keeping it.
