We are getting the CZ😁 Ordered it off gunbroker, so now comes the hard part. The wait🤣 Great gun. Start shopping for mags and accessories. And lots of ammo! Enjoy! Magazines are fairly cheap so I’ll pick up 5 or 6, accessories I’ll wait until after I take it to the range. Finding ammo is the fun part🤣

Just curious,
Anyone here into long range precision shooting with guns like Sig Cross, Savage 110 precision elite, Christensen arms, etc?

The Wife and I are just now beginning to get into the long range stuff. We’ve been doing a lot of research but haven’t spent the money yet. It may be next year before we get set-up. I will say that, in many discussions with the PRS competitors at our local ranges, the Ruger Precision Rifles seem to be the class of the entry-to-mid level field. I was looking at the Sig Cross but every one of the folks at my ranges who bought one traded them off after a couple of months.

That yearly raffle I take part in gave me a big shock, we won a savage 110 precision elite in 6mm creedmore. So now I’m stuck trying to set it up on a limited budget. Why can’t I have this luck with a lottery ticket

I’ve used them before in my hunt for 22 lr last year😁 First order of business and one of the most important is getting an appropriate scope for it. I have a very old Redfield 5/gold star that’s probably not very suitable.

As a side note, I’m finding ammo a bit easier locally. I can get 9mm and 5.56 now without limitations on quantity. This time last year, one of the local gun shops would only sell ammo with a firearm purchase

The ammo and firearm supply situation has gotten much better in the past 3 months here in East Tennessee. The big box stores still are short but that’s because all the scalpers still hit them to try and resell at stupid prices. At last week’s gunshow, some of the scalpers were trying to sell steel case 9mm for $1/round but still had the original price sticker on the boxes ($12/box). I pointed that out to my buddy and the seller got pissed at me and threatened to call security. Told him to go ahead as I’d love to report him for attempted sodomy on his customers.

I finally got to put some rounds through my Canik. I quite like it. I think I’m going to eventually put a laser sight on the lower rail.

Hard to go wrong either way. One thing with the Savage though, it is much easier to change the barrel on it when the time comes. Oh, and the Savage sells for about $300 more than the Howa.

Changing the barrel has been a big concern as I do plan on shooting it a lot so it will need it sooner than other rifles. Its just the more I handle it the more I get a cheap feeling, hell every time I pick it up some of the screws fall out of the chassis, bugs me to no end.

Yeah, that’s no good at all. we are going to go with the Ruger Precision for our first as they are very easy to work on and have huge aftermarket support. Plus changing the barrel is stupid easy for any smith.

I’d love to have one but the wife hates the feel. Usually she’s happier with the more expensive models, but the Ruger fits her better.
