Does anyone play this game? I'm really enjoying it at the minute, especially since I got it for £1.99 in the Steam sale a while back. My favourite country to play may be Turkey. I'm trying to expand the Ottoman Empire again, but I never seem to get any further than Bulgaria. The Bulgarians are always a walk over, but then I'm always stumped for more options. The Greeks usually get invaded by the Italians before I get a chance to do it, invading the Romanians always ends badly, I can never break through their border, the Persians look a bit hard, what with only having a one-province border, and Iraq and French Syria would constitute declaring war on the Allies, which I'm not too eager to do. And I always run out of manpower to field any more than twenty five or thirty divisions of infantry and cavalry.
I also played as 'Murica, and using the "noneutrality" console command was able to successfully "free" all of South America. Of course this fucked the game up and led to an Axis Liberia and no war with Germany until 1940, at which point I just went and declared war myself and carried out amphibious and airborne landings at Wilhelmshaven (which failed).

I've got a nice little Ottoman Empire going now. I've got Bulgaria, Persia, Afghanistan, Romania, Oman, Iraq, Yemen and some parts of Russia. Yemen and Romania haven't been properly annexed, they went as a government in exile, and the bits of Russia are just in the course of an invasion. There's a bit of Sinkiang in there too, but I'll just let the Japanese have that.

How much machine do you need to run it? Sounds interesting.

Righto, my Turkish empire is, I think, at its zenith. It, so far, encompasses; Bulgaria, Romania (occupied), Persia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Oman, Yemen (occupied), British Kuwait (occupied), British Aden (occupied), British Trucial Coast (occupied), Cyprus (occupied), and some bits of British Jordan (occupied). What happened with Russia was hilarious. Germany defeated Russia, and annexed everything up to the Caspian Sea, leaving the rest of the USSR independent and free. Now, skip ahead two years, and I, as Turkey, am getting bored. I've invaded everything that is feasible (I'm in the Axis by now), so I just go and declare war on what's left of the USSR, hoping to get some choice cuts of the Caucasus. It's a full war, so the peace is broken with Axis versus Comintern again. I get a load of Russia, but run out of supplies and don't get any further. German invades but only makes significant gains in the north of Russia. Japan invades from the South. Japan makes the most success in Russia, and as such is the country to defeat it. And then the funniest thing happens. Japan, having defeated Russia, makes it a puppet state. So I look at the USSR, and it says "is a puppet of Japan". Oh the shame Russia, oh the shame. And with that the Comintern in destroyed, with no more members, leaving the Axis against the Allies (who by now only have Britain and the USA as major players). I'll point out that by this point the year is 1949, and nothing like D-Day has happened. There hasn't even been a war in the Pacific. The Philippines are still free, and the furthest the Japanese got in the Pacific was Singapore. And India, but that's more Asia. Altogether a really fun and interesting playthrough. I'm interested to see how it ends.

I just got this game. I'm having a lot of fun despite being completely confused. I'll figure it out as I go though. Currently playing the Soviet Union after three horrendous starts. attempting to bring Poland and Finland into the Comintern for the reasons of removing Germany's historical allies and stopping their advances before they start. Don't know how possible that is or how well its working, But its what I'm rolling with.

oooh Russia such disappointment... UK should be no problem that will be a easy fight. Americas on the other hand might be difficult lol. Good luck to you ! Yeah, the British look to be quite weakened. That said, as Turkey, I'd rather let Germany handle the British Isles. I haven't the ability to compete with the Royal Navy. Seriously, I can't even ferry a division over to Japanese India without being sunk. Every ship I put to sea gets sunk. I built three new troopships to invade Cyprus. I invaded Cyprus and used them to move troops around the Mediterranean, but two were sunk within a month. It's ridiculous. One, like I said, on the way to India, and the other on the short hop to Alexandria on the Egyptian coast. I can't even move across the Med to other Axis colonies without being sunk. The Americas will be difficult. That said, the Japanese haven't even started fighting the Americans yet, so I think they'll be weakened. Especially if Britain is defeated, I don't think the USA can stand up to the combined might of Japan and Germany at the same time (and Turkey, woot woot!) The Axis did hold a lot South America, Brazil and all that, but the Allied South American countries invaded it. So now all of the Americas are Allied. The British are nearly beaten in Africa too, we're nearly at South Africa, but supplies are becoming an issue. And they're making some worrying gains in Italian Ethiopia too. They've been beaten back in Vichy North Africa though, and Spain has taken their west African colonies, as well as Liberia.

When you go to war, it'll be horrendous for your first game. It'll be almost impossible to micro-manage upwards of 200 division along a six or seven hundred mile frontier. I recommend something small, but regionally powerful. Turkey is a good choice. Persia and Saudi Arabia can also be interesting. The Middle East is full of weak countries that are easy picking for expansion. Watch out for the British though.

The game will take forever to know what the hell your doing, at first glance the interface looks terrifying, but it easier as you play along. You can focus each tab, like research, politics, Intellegence one game (ai do the rest) then production/ diplomacy, and then the army.

Worthless ai!

The Germans aren't doing too bad in the Mediterranean really. The British aren't up to much, especially since now they have Cyprus, Gibraltar, Malta and Egypt occupied, they've got no ports on the Med.

Oh dear, the allied offensive has begun. The British have pushed the Germans and Italians almost back to the Suez Canal in Egypt. There has been a failed invasion of Turkish Aden, and now three failed D-Days, one in La Rochelle by the British, one in Wilhelmshaven by the Americans, and a third by the British at Cherbourg. It's not looking good in Egypt.

I'm just gonna leave the rest of the whole war thing to the Germans and focus on developing my empire. The British are getting terribly close and I'd rather keep Iraq.

No, I think they're actually outnumbered. The issue is with supplies. It's impossible to get enough supplies to front line units and any advance just stalls.

After your recommendation went to Steam to get it but having problems with the install. Needs the .Net Framework and when I try and load that there's an error. I have a new laptop, well it'a couple of years old but new to me so any tips on how to sort that welcome. Also is the game or can the game be played multi-player? I really like games like this and was going to try and hook a few friends in.

I don't really know. My download went off without any issues, and I don't really have any PC know-how. It does have a multiplayer mode though, but I'm not sure as to the extent of it.
