I'm an ET2. Currently on my second DDG and third enlistment. Have five NECs right now. Work on SPS-67, Tacan, and the Navigation and steering gear. 9 years at the end of this month and 11 more to go if I can make ET1. Awesome...best of luck picking up 1st. My only NEC was 8284, although my rate was AT and I went to "C" school. Didn't sail on any tin cans as an airdale, but had buddies that were on them in HSL squadrons. I did a cruise on the Saratoga (razor blades now) as an aircrewman on EA-3Bs. I don't miss bug juice or sliders. Best of luck. thanks I'm staying in the small boys. More ports and I'm not stuck only working on one system. |

I know my buddy really enjoyed the DDGs and working on SH-60s.
I'll be honest and say that while I really enjoyed flying in the EA-3B off of the carrier, the transition to EP-3Es and the Special Projects birds at VPU-1 was very easy. Per diem wasn't a bad thing, nor was having a beer after a long day. I was stationed in Rota for 7 years and spent most of the time deployed to Sigonella and Souda Bay.
