I'm a PC Player, so I don't have to deal with "old Swamp", but nonetheless if I were to state my opinion on it. Well, let's just shorten it to "I didn't like it". It was perhaps one of the most common maps I found for draws namely because people seemed baffled at how to actually root out the base-campers regardless of which spawn and I just didn't enjoy it.
I can't say that I personally enjoy the new version, but I do like it more over that version of Swamp. It was just.. euuh.

it was good for the first two days because people pushed hard and were aggressive, but now they seem to all have their tents set up and a fire going.

Love the map but painful for tanks with bad terrain resistance like for example, the Type 59!

Not enough games on it to judge, but encounter gave the most action filled game on Swamp so far.

played it twice so far, which is sad, considering I just finished a 6 hour session of WOT! broken map rotation! aren't new maps usually spammed to death? remember pacific?

Played for the first time last night in my M103. Not a fan. Everyone crowds around the big rocks, and the first team to get impatient loses. No real strategy, just wait em out.

Its not a terrible map in my opinion but more could be done in terms of cover for that map, Ive been playing arty ALOT recently and its literally a goldmine. The majority of the randoms sit and camp 24/7 which makes my job incredibly easy lol

It seems to be turning into another Erlenberg. Lots of camping and sniping by tanks really not suited for that, punctuated by some early rushed that are usually doomed because of all the open ground.
I have found a crater just to the north of the intact bridge that I can fit some tanks with strong turrets completely hull down in. Has made rushing from that side a bit more survivable.

I don't mind the map. I just wish they would fix the hitboxes of the broken bridge segments. Those things are currently FUBAR.

As everyone else has already said, campfest BUT its an extra map so variety is better than none. That being said I have only played it in my ISU 152 derp.

I've finally had it enough to way in: I've only had one really good battle on it and split about 50/50 with mediocre and bad games. I agree that there is not enough cover...or at least I haven't found it yet.

Swamp is very Tank Class bassed i think a Medium/Light with gun depression and speed will do well anything else it just sucks.
It's to open, to campy.

I love open maps, I like the freedom to roam. It's the ones that funnel you in to choke points that I have problems with, such as Abbey, never do well on that map. I even like Komarin, go figure !!!!!! |

I even like Komarin, go figure !!!!!! I like choke points, nice easy way to get shots into there side. and easy to predict on what people are going to do. Swamp is just move 10 feet out of your spawn, get detected then die in a matter of seconds. i don't mind it in a faster medium but i'm currently grinding my IS-8 and KV-3 so i have terrible speed along side bad View range. Maybe if they put more things in the middle, sorted the EAST bridge out and sorted the spawns out so they're not so flat i would actually love it, don't get me wrong v'e had a few good games on swamp. Komarin is a nice map i use to hate it to hell and back but i've started to love it, easy to get the guys out of the corner. |

I reckon if you had good gun depression with good turret armour (T29, ST-I, T30 egt) And got to there side without being hit or anything you could do amazing, i highly doubt anybody is stupid enough to rush you with a massive firing squad behind you. |
