A simple question, Which of the light tanks that you have played, or encountered, is the best? Admittedly, I'm not a light tank guy. I'm a medium driver, but i have a couple of light tanks and just wondered what everyone's opinion was concerning them. I have been working on the LTTB and i have to say that I really enjoy it, but the best light i have come across is the M41 Bulldog. it can wreak havoc regardless of being bottom tier or not. I also have and enjoy the Joco Chaffee, but I think the Bulldog is the best light i have encountered.

I live light tanks. To me they are, by far, the most interesting, underrated, and difficult class, but also the most rewarding.
III - Locust
IV - Luchs
V - Chaffee
VI - AMX Chaffee / VK 28.01
VII - Bulldog
VIII - T49 / M41B
There are other good lights, but these are my favorites.
If I have to pick one favorite it would be the original Chaffee. Going into tier X as a tier V and holding your own was amazing!

As it stands currently, my M41 Bulldog is my favorite light. It can be an absolute monster if you play it right.
I do generally agree with Sl4y3r on his list. Although I think I'd give the nod to the Ru251 at Tier VIII, granted I have only a few rounds in it, I'm really liking it so far.

MT 25 with 57mm ZIS-4 needle gun is great fun too. Love CODing Dumb heavies and TDs with it. It also packs a wallop at speed. try ramming that AMX 13 90 who thinks he can yolo you with his auto loading cannon. Hilarious.

My favorite so far is my M41 (with the single shot) and the one with the most "oh hell" moments is the T49 (I have 1 MoE on each of these tanks). I really enjoyed the 13 90 and wish I wouldn't have sold it and I just purchased the Ru 251 last night (guilty as charged as free experiencing past the tier 6&7 tanks), but only have 4 battles in it, although my last game was a 2 kill, 4400ish combined dmg game. Man the 90mm is good and I'm sure better once I get used to the slow shell velocity.

Probably my favorite Light is the M41 Bulldog. It does everything a Light should, plus the top gun is accurate and can pen pretty much anything it might run into from the sides or rear.
As a Medium driver you might really like the RU 251. It's a Light tank that might as well be a fast, lightly armored Medium.

I really need to sit down and give it another shot. The Bulldog really is the gem of the line though. If you like light tanks, you'll love the Bulldog. |

The RU 251 is a junior Leopard 1. It was designed like the A6M2 Zero - to do the shooting, not to be shot at.

I have only used the German lights up to tier 6, I enjoyed the Leopard at tier 5 and I'm still using the VK28.01.

So far the Bulldog feels like the best light tank overall, though i like all the lights i have in the garage.
T-54ltwt and WZ-132 plays more like mediums though but i'm starting to figure them out.

I just unlocked the auto loader for the bull dog... The chaffe was my favorite tank. But 10 shots of you eat a bag of dicks is just to much fun. I just started the soviet light line and the T-50 is a great little tank that probably earned it's spot in my garage.

It fires nearly as fast, is more accurate, and you don't have that long reload where you're helpless. |

M41 WB, then prob T49. AMX Chaffee would probably be my 3rd choice, followed by the M41B or T71. I know I am missing some heavy hitters there, but I dont own them (RU, WZ, T54LT etc). Those are also just counting high tier lights. Based on pure fun and lower tiers, ELC is in there for me also. Hilarious tank.

wz is faster better scout than 54lwt, still packs a punch to shoot its way outta trouble. if u brought a type59 put your crew in this, all the china lights play well so easy grind.
rue is best t8 bulldog best 7, chaffie still best t5 and tier 6 is hard to call but i love my mt25 now i know how to drive it. type64 china prem is an amazing passive scout. sounds boring but sneaking through the reds for a stealth hit on arty has its own rush.
didnt get on with the french but i can see what they have to offer and t5 looks good.

Personally, the two best lights I've encountered in big numbers is the M41 Bulldog (the proper, tier VII one) and the RU251.
M41 has that amazing choice of a devastating autoloader or a pretty lethal 76mm single shot, both of which open up unique avenues of killing.
RU251 has an insanely good 90mm, is on a damn good chassis which moves at rocket speed and just handles battles very well.
Not played the tanks yet mind you, but this is just from my observations and own personal research in to the matter via YouTube

RU 251 is the best. That is all you need to know. Its the Leopard 1 light weight.
