So, my friend pulled me back into the game hrre for a bit and I saw this Sturmtiger thing in battle. Has anyone tried the line out? It looks like a direct fire artillery, with an outrageous 38cm howitzer gun.

I'm on the T7 and it's enjoyable. The t6 also had it's moments.

I'm on the T7 and it's enjoyable. The t6 also had it's moments. I started the grind and it seems like the guns do a LOT of damage if you can hit with them. The HE has relatively high pen too. I've had some success auto aiming tanks over hills and hitting them due to the extremely high shell arc. The armour leaves much to be desired, but not terrible concealment. |

When the line was initally released, it was considered by many to be one of the worst - if not, THE worst - line in the game. Some of WGCB's odd "reforges" have buffed the line a little bit but in my opinion it's still not enough to make this line even LOOK worthwhile. Don't waste your time, avoid the Sturmtiger line like the plague.

I've had some seriously good games in the tier 7. It has an exceedingly powerful gun and seemingly workable armour. You damage anything you hit with it and it plays much like a faster, up armoured SU-152 with better AP rounds. I like my derps and these seem to be working for me pretty well.
Light tanks certainly are dangerous for them, but the AP will overmatch the lights it faces in its matchmaking spread and hits for around 800 alpha, so if you catch that light anywhere, it dies in a single hit from full HP. The HE is punishingly brutal too, with something like 80mm of pen for 1,100 alpha. You kill crew members and break modules with basically every hit.

The tier V and VI would be much better if not for the fact that their HEAT shells are premium ammo only (which was a terrible change out of SuperTest since it used to be that their premium shells were just the better HE shells instead), the tier VIII and IX are flat out terrible (the tier IX is arguably the worst tank in the game), and from what I've seen the Sturmtiger itself is alright but generally too unwieldy to be very good. |

I feel that this line even with all its flaws is a good addition to the WWII mode, in a way it makes you get out of the same old same old as they are and look in battle:
