Does he sound this way anytime he speaks? He is a little extra on the enthusiasm. His voice reminds me of Koiwai in MMO junkie. He kind of does that voice inflection too at times. Subaru? Not always, no. I assume that since this is chibi and more lighthearted he'll be like that more often than the super dark places he goes in the original anime. He has this whole "always try to look good and positive" vibe to his character, which kind of falls apart after a while in the original show. I still recommend Re:Zero wholeheartedly.

I just wondered if that's what Derpy was talking about with his voice. I could see it being annoying if he does that every time he talks. I tried watching it, but funimation only has the Japanese version with no subtitles and the one I found on youtube has way too much background noise to try and listen to it. I guess I'll either have to wait for it to be translated or perhaps they're airing it on youtube like they did Goblin Slayer and then taking it down afterward.

Are you referring to Isekai Quartet or Re:Zero? If the latter than Re:Zero already has been released with a, , full English dub. If the Former I can't imagine FUNimation airing something with no subs whatsoever, and I know they are planning on dubbing it. I would look to see if the settings are correct for their player. I have no experience with their player though, especially since I just watch fansubs now. Side Note: Hilariously they can't get back all the OG voice actors that did the characters in the original shows, which is odd considering Funi only uses like 5 VAs for every dub, so several characters are going to have different English VAs now. And I thought they couldn't get the quality to drop more.

I tried watching Snow White with the red hair on their site, but all I seemed to be able to view was English which is really bad for it. On the quartet, I'm just seeing Japanese and another language and it didn't have any subtitles. I didn't know there was a way to change settings. I haven't really used their site much. This is the quality of the one from youtube. Lol.

Maybe just me, but the pirate woman from Snow White with the Red Hair looks and sounds like the homeroom teacher from Isekai Quartet. Both creepy. This show is really good though.

I just finished Snow White with the Red Hair and have some thoughts about it. DW, I'm putting it in a spoiler in case you decide to watch it. Overall, I really enjoyed the show. I didn't like her at first. I can't relate to someone being treated special because of the color of their hair. To me that idea is a turn off. But I like the kind of person she is and her red hair grew on me. One thing that bugged me is that she has been there for several months--maybe a year or more and that hair did not grow. 🙄 After finishing the first season of shows, I said that if they didn't get married, I'd be ok with it. Those last two episodes of the first season were really good. However, after the second season and all his talk about wanting to marry her, all the hugs and kisses, the stuff they went through, and finally getting his brother to respect their relationship, I am disappointed with how it ended. Not even a proposal of marriage or them getting married. I think he is trustworthy and honorable, but stuff always happens. He'll find another girl to marry. He should've sealed that deal while he had the chance. I would've been happier if they had just went ahead and ended their relationship or ended with the first season. It's frustrating to see them talk so seriously, but then have it end up being so casual between them. Anyway, now I'm mad that I marathoned it to get to that end. 😂

DerailedWingnut Sora Yori mo Tooi Basho/A Place Further Than the Universe is without a doubt one of the best animes of last year. Phenomenal Characters/Story, Art style for the most part is fantastic too though I can understand some of the faces being a bit 'off' at times. OST particularly the Insert Songs it has are all great as well. There's really not that much I could negatively say about it except maybe in the case of recommending it to LT in that, it's bittersweet. It's a sad one, I would say with the likes of Angel Beats which I have watched or Clannad which I haven't but maybe not, because I'd say they are overwhelmingly sad after a certain point and Sora Yori isn't like that. It doesn't just decide 'Now I'm a sad anime' and stick with that from then on. Hence the Bittersweet, and one of those where I would say the sad parts are absolutely worth it.

I'll have to look into it. I only have 2 episodes of Youjo Senki left, so I'll need something else to pick up. In the same vein, I don't think the faces looking a bit off will bother me much after Youjo either.

test777777 I was thinking about this and these are the ways I'd use some of those terms from the meme thread. I might be wrong on some, but I don't care. 😁 If I call someone a weeb, it would be used in either of these two ways. It's either me calling them weird or weirdo in a friendly way or they're really out there with their hobbies--usually with anime, manga, or collecting stuff and I really do think they're strange. DW is a weeb and also weird, but not strange. Well, maybe a little... Everybody else here is just weird. I wouldn't call a girl a weeb. I'd call a girl a weaboo. Also, a boo might be someone you're dating so I think a weaboo could also be a weeb you're dating or your weaboo. I don't use the word Otaku. To me it sounds too formal and I'm still not really sure I know what it means. A nerd is just someone who is really knowledgeable and usually about a lot of things. There are several nerds here. I might also call someone a nerd like I'd call them weird. A dork is someone who says or does goofy stuff. I dork a lot. I'll also call someone a dork if they're weird.

Especially the Weeb, weaboo and boo part. I had no idea about those. I enjoy culture and etymology, these words possibly come from the Anime culture and while I have seen and watched and even enjoyed some Anime over the past 30 years or so, I don't "get" most of it. I think Otaku is a word adopted by the Anime Sub Culture as to mean an Uber Weeb. Frustratingly for me though with most of these terms it's difficult to know if they are pejorative or complimentary or neither. They can be all of the above depending on who's saying, using them and who's listening. Can it be normal to be weird or weird to be normal? I posit there is no normal, everyone's a bit weird.

If a person will call themself a weeb and owns it well, then I'll be ok to refer to them as that too. But I generally stay away from using that term unless I really do think someone is out there with all that and I don't really see anyone here as being like that.

The best part about owning the word is when people try to use it as an insult, and you're just like "Yeah, and?". If someone is insulted by that word, than they are just genuinely looking to be offended by something, it's more a meme than anything at this point to call someone a weeb. Also, I'm the only true weeb on here and everyone else is just weird?

I used to watch Astroboy on the ABC before going to school every morning and watched Battle of the Planets and Voltron and Robotech(might not count as Anime) as a kid too. . I've watched hours of Neon Genesis Evangelian, Castlevania, GuP, Cowboy Bebop, BGC, Samurai Shamploo, 3X3 eyes, Gyver plus lots of stand alone films too from Akira and Death Note to Vampire hunter D and Wicked City including some of that vulgar Urotsukidoji as a young less mature adult who thought tentacle porn was pretty funny. Watched a fair few others too probably. I'm learning about all of these terms and I feel like I've crossed a bridge. At least I sort of know what someone is on about when they mention terms like Weeb or Supersaiyan.

One of my friends absolutely adores Macross and even collects the giant Mech/Ship figures from it. Voltron is sort of anime as in the animation is from the Hyaku Jūō Goraion Japanese anime. The story and dialogue isn't and the footage has been highly edited to match the storyline. Before my kids could read, when I was tired, I'd do similar things by ignoring the words and dialogue and telling my own story based on the pictures in the book and my own warped imagination. I'm not one of those weeb, purist types but according to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robotech, Robotech was a bit of a mishmash too. Wikepedia states: Robotech (1985) is an original story adapted with edited content and revised dialogue from the animation of three different mecha anime series: The Super Dimension Fortress Macross (1982–1983) Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross (1984) Genesis Climber MOSPEADA (1983–1984)[5] Battle of the Planets was based on Kagaku Ninja Tai Gatchaman I believe but closer to the original Japanese Anime - we're talking late 70s. Astroboy(1980s) English dub was reasonably faithful to the Japanese Anime as far as I know except if living in Canada. The Canadians had their own Dubbed version which was apparently highly edited. I wish they'd turned Azumi into an Anime. I'd watch it for sure. www.mangareader.net/azumi
