What will happen to aircraft carriers of uneven tiers?
All accumulated XP will be transferred to an aircraft carrier one tier lower.
As for respecs
Commanders without specialization for aircraft carriers, but with any of the following skills mastered: "Dogfighting Expert", "Aircraft Servicing Expert", "Evasive Maneuver", "Expert Rear Gunner", "Emergency Takeoff", or "Air Supremacy", will have their skills reset.

If they don't tone down the AA I'm done playing CVs. I'll keep my premiums and stick a captain in each of those, but I want nothing to do with the tech tree ships. No point in going to tier 10 if you're just gonna get shot down and lose money every game, even if you do good.

No offense to my Bunker family, but I have no sympathy for you in regards to cv changes. I kinda feel about cvs like I do about arty in WoT. You can sit at the back and ruin people’s games without immediately exposing yourself to direct harm. In your favor, however, when compared to arty, you can contribute to your teams in other ways such as spotting and annoying other ships into making goofy mistakes. So that’s going for you!  All of that aside, I’ll adjust and roll with whatever. But I still won’t play cvs. |

I guess I read it wrong. The part I think I misread says if you only have a tier 4 CV then the xp would transfered to a tier 1 ship if you wanted compensation. Still not sure if that's right.

Ok now I understand what I misread. If you convert your xp from a tier 4 ship FOR A SECOND TIME your xp will then be transfered to a tier 1 ship. Silly me.  |

Cv's punish the " sit across the ocean from each other, unmoving, and fire at each others angled bows" meta of the game currently. If you sit still, or slowly reverse and try to bow tank, you are going to get smoked by a CV for sure, as you rightly should. You can, even in a battleship, maneuver to mitigate large portion of airdropped ordinance, but you normally still take a hit or two. Cruisers and Destroyers are generally mobile enough that you can dodge torpedos pretty easily, and bombs are entirely RNG dependant.
Arty in WoT operates under the same principles. Most (not all) of the people hit by arty from my experience are people who sit still, base camp, or hull down. The exception being large slow moving tanks(much the same as battleships being a carrier captain's main target)
Is it annoying? Yes. Is it important for the current system? Arguably yes.

I get a huge amount of satisfaction from drilling a hulldown heavy, or any autoloader with a 210mm round from the GW Tiger P. Some of the most fun I have had playing tanks, especially getting to test the durability of those new fangled russian heavies that people think are invincible when sidescraping.

Not really interested in the same tired talking points getting rehashed yet again. My statement is however true. All the players I seen vocal about hating arty are the ones who sit still out in the open, drive it straight lines, etc. From new players to some of the best in the game( canned bones, krebs, Justanace, etc.) they all make the same mistakes, then go crying on the forum claiming they don't and when you post a DVR recording to prove them wrong report you for naming and shaming. Yeah arty is not exposed to immediate threat, but as soon as they fire they are exposed and dealt with daily quickly. |

Like, say, daring to drive into a city in the first minute of the game: "Once spotted, arty is dead." Well...yeah...about that...  Now, I've had a lot of fun pooping on people in the Skillcannon and Sexy Sammy, but let us not act as if it is fine. It is most certainly not.  As far as CVs go, I'm a cruiser main so lol don't care. FEED ME PLANES!!!  I was hoping they'd give like two weeks of captain respecs to everyone as folks adjust to whether or not an AA build is worth it, etc., but doesn't seem like it. Gonna be interesting to see how things shake out. It's going to be a hot mess for a while. |
