Heres a good video to see what the upcoming rework is like. You can see him struggle to see and hit the DDs with bombs. You will also see how effective the AA is at the moment. You will also see his attemot at crossdropping. He did have a good game but at the same time, I've had games like that! Hope you like it!

No vid lol The way the anti rework crowd acts they make it sound like it's all doom and gloom. Dang I can be so silly. Got the vodeo on there now! Also you're right about the doom and gloom. Even when someone tries to point out that DDs will have it easier or that the AA is actually pretty decent they somehow spin it to be bad or downvote you anyways. I tried sending a ticket with feedback on the latest public test and they told me to go to the forum! I doubt 3/4 of the comments on the CV feedback thread were made by people who actually tried the test. Using the forum as a means for feedback on any of the test was a bad idea in my opinion. Too much static from all the haters. It's really not bad at all. They even added torps to tier 4. Some might be upset by the single torp drop but it really helps you learn how to drop them accurately without being OP. |

Well, people are frustrated because the class they like is being changed pretty much 100%.
Some people do enjoy the micromanagement aspect of it, and the potential to attack single targets with 5-7 squadrons of attack planes simultaneously, or even the way AA works currently.
7 attack squadrons and 2 fighters down to 1 squadron and fighters as a consumable is a pretty huge change. I'm going into it with an open mind but I can see how dedicated players would be frustrated.

Think about how much of an uproar there would be if they just removed Arty from WoT?
Sure lots of people dont like it, sure lots of people want it removed or think its cheap, but some players do enjoy it and it has a role in the game to punish campers. There would be a huuuge backlash if they actually did.
CV's punish players who sit bow on stationary across the map and dont move the entire game. They are meant to force players to keep moving and maneuvering, which is the case in most top tier games.
Its dangerous to sit stationary and bow tank in a top tier game if there is a CV present because there is always the threat of getting focused by lots of planes and being unable to dodge them.
If the only squad the CV has is across the map, you have 0 worries about him and can camp to your hearts content without any fear of punishment.

I just hope it works out, and people can accept the change. I'm much more interested in the submarines and how that will affect the current meta.

I think there is concern that AA is really convoluted and captain skills are a bit pointless. I had to look up convoluted, and it said difficult to follow. Wouldn't you want that? They make it any easier and its WASD hackable. Fara got destroyed by the AA yet still pulled a 140k damage game. I will agree that some of the aptain skills were kinda pointless unless you wanted a fast air group. I tried that setup in the first test and honestly the US T10 rocket planes were a little too fast at something like 360kmh. If you could aim at that speed then more power to you but it was just too fast for me and I couldn't hit shit. |

For the first few weeks anyone not participating in the PT will have no idea what they are doing or how the AA or anything works, and you will probably see disproportionate numbers of Cv's in the first week or two.
The old CV captains who mastered the micro aspect and combined assaults will probably take a while to get the new system figured out, and I'm sure many of them will probably sell their CV's and never pick the class up again.
Its going to be a complete shake up of the game. How will dedicated AA cruisers now fit in if the CV has only one squadron? If the CV realises you are there and moves the one squad to the other side of the map, you pretty much wasted those points. Its going to be much easier to avoid AA heavy ships with only 1 squad to control or worry about.

Any ship near you will also have that protection. I can say from the test, flying by a Minotaur is a bad idea. I think after everything settles down people will actually support each other. Ships grouped up were not fun to attack in my opinion. |
