With so much salt on the other forum about the rework coming up I decided I would give everyone here a few pointers on how to deal with endless planes. I haven't really played many other games on the public test other than cv games so everything here is from my experience dealing with bots on the test servers. I want to add I'm actually looking foward to playing against human players becuase I swear they will make more mistakes than the bots I've been trying to sink.
PAY ATTENTION TO THE MINI MAP
Watch the icons as to which plane type is headed your direction. If it's a Torp squad, last thing you want to do is show them your broadside. If its a bomber start turning so they cant line up with you straight on. Rocket planes can best be dealt with by using both of the tactis above. Adjusting speed will effect accuracy in all scenarios.
I know its not very different than before, but now I feel it's way more effective. To get a decent amount of damage requires good, solid accuracy and timing. Otherwise I'm just flying around and getting shot down by AA. I rarely get more than 2 passes as my squad is usually too weak or completely gone after the second pass.
Grouped up ships can be dangerous to planes, if they work toghether. If you're all bunched up and running into each other then you are definitely easy pickings for a torp strike.
DDs are going to be your main spotters now.
I struggle to see them unless I waste a fighter consumable to spot them, but that leaves my freindlies unsupported. When I fly out at the begining of the match I see BBs first then CAs with just enough time to strike. DDs it is often too late to line up and aim accurately to do any damage.
As for fighter consumables, I only get two per plane type giving me six total to use through out the match. Towards the end you will most likely not have fighter protection.
I hope this helps. See you on the rough salty seas!
