This thing is the worst tank I have ever played. I can't wait to be rid of it I might just leave it in my garage to rot till I get the free XP. Not worth playing in multiplayer as anything can pen your turret and sides get exposed to easy.

Not worth playing in multiplayer as anything can pen your turret and sides get exposed to easy. I would be patient and wait until you get it fully upgraded. It starts out with the crappy IS-2 turret that get's buttered in T8-10, but I've talked to a few folks who have it fully upgraded and it's a true side-scraping brawler that is pretty damn good. I will be getting it soon and I will free XP to the top package. |

From what i've seen, it looks formidable, when fully upgraded at least. It looks bloody awful stock though. As suggested above, grinding it out via War Stories a bit might be wise.

The one tier VIII that I actually dread facing off against it hits hard and I suspect a beast of a thing when fully upgraded.

Aye thankfully it does get better, might go the way of WS or getting the x2 a day at least then it will go up bit by bit. I'm doing well in the is3 however for some odd reason.

I picked up the IS-M last night and fully upgraded it. I have small sample size of 4 battles, but it is a very good tank. My best game was a 5.5k combined game with 4 kills (4k raw dmg) and I'm averaging 2.7k dmg. I did go full yolo tard in a T10 battle to see what it could withstand and it held up fairly well against the usual suspects. It side scrapes like a boss!

Kind of a running update, and the sample size is still relatively small, but IMO, if you like heavy tanks, this one should be in your garage. I’ve just picked up my second skill (thank you boosts and ops) and I wouldn’t consider myself highly competent in your prototypical heavy tanks that excel at sidescraping and brawling (more attracted to heavies with good turrets and gun depression); however, I’ve been able to avg 2.5k and pick up a handful of cool headed and steel walls while pushing this tank to both see what it can do and what I’m capable of performing like in a new style of play for me. A player who loves and performs well in heavies would be over the moon with this tank (R35T...I’m looking at you!). I’m hoping to pick up my 1st mark soon...I’m at 36% after 14 battles.

I'm still grinding mine out with the 2X daily on about the 2nd or 3rd package. so still have crappy pen.
I absolutely hate coming across these things though - no idea where to shoot them.
