I can't believe this bullshit. They are allegedly doing some sort of halloween thing, then using that as a testing and feedback opportunity.
I sincerely hope they don't implement this crap.

It could be an interesting dynamic I suppose, but itll add to the torpedo spam. I have noticed the depth charges mounted to the rear of most cruisers and destroyers lately, not to mention the addition of deep water torpedos with the pan asian destroyers, which I assumed to be a precursor to submarines.
Germany, Japan, USA and Britan all had submarine fleets, so it'll flesh out some of the more sparse ship nations who lack significant aircraft carrier presences, namely the Kriegsmarine.
It adds a new dynamic to destroyer gameplay, who would be particularly well suited to sub hunting. Having said that, it's going to be an extremely difficult class to balance. The Oxygen system sounds like a decent idea. If depth charges do oxygen damage to force subs to the surface, it would be much more balanced.. Sub's will be exceptionally slow when submerged as well, and thus easily chased down by destroyers and cruisers.
A surfaced submarine who is detected is a dead submarine.

Let's not lose our shit yet.  I think it'd be cool to have them for scenarios. Not sure about randoms, but depends on how they're implemented. There would be a lot of issues to address -- speed (subs were slow), how long they can be submerged (there is an O2 sensor in the video they posted), how depth charges would work, etc. It'll at least be interesting. |

I'm glad I went ahead and updated, didn't realize a halloween event would go on for so long! I know its hard to tell how it'll affect the game right now, but I enjoy playing the op! I had two crappy games getting the hang of it but once I did I really started to enjoy it! Today I just realized they came with 19 pt captains! Now I'm really havin' fun!

They are ok. It's difficult to really place how they'd do in PvP if they are ever added, because you're only going against Bots right now. Some OP bots, in some cases when fighting the boss and his cohort, but still.
I think it could potentially break PvP if they are added, unless depth charges are added in much more potent way.

If they limited it to 1 sub per side I doubt it would break it. They have no armor on the surface and they're kinda slow and turn slowly. Destroyers would have a new job. CVs abd BBs would have to move more. Also what if the red sub decides to hunt you?
