I bought an Acer Nitro 5 for less than $800. It runs Warships at max settings at a good frame rate. For a grand you can go total overkill. I don't know what kind of machine you have now, but you don't need a totally boss setup to get your feet wet, so to speak. I played on a pretty gimped system at medium settings for a while. The game is stunning when maxed out, though.

Are you aware of anyone playing it on an Apple with good success?

Yeah...that's what I figured. I'm going to let it ride for a little while longer to see if my waning interest in WoT is permanent, and if so, check out WT to see if I can get a tank fix playing it. If not I'll pick up a laptop. I only have an interest in playing one game at a time ...at least now, so I'm going to keep it under consideration. Thanks for the feedback....hope you've been well.

Snore, I don't run ships on a super powerful laptop. Business class HP Envy. Medium graphical settings but runs fine.
I don't do many other PC games. If I get back into that, I will get a better gaming rig.

You will enjoy yourself Snore. Its a tremendously fun game and the PC version has quite a bit of content now. You will not be disappointed.

Played some of the PC version. Ran like ass on my laptop, but was intrigued. However, I backed off on xbox when I heard folks talking about the UI. Then became very skeptical when I realized how big of an advantage mouse and keyboard can be. I've experienced m/k support for games like Battlefield. It had m/k support through the use of a XIM device. People with that tool could just pillage. Im not sure I want to expose myself to that via the crossover PC crowd. Not to mention the mods available to PC players. I've seen a few vids discussing these things, and read some postings / blogs about it, as well. That may not deter me, permanently, but it was enough for me to skip paying for the early access. So I am spending money on Ships, instead, lol.

Yeah...I have 230ish days of premium time left and about 5k gold so I'm going to play my time out (although I haven't felt like playing as often) while WT works the bugs out on console. I haven't made a final decision on Warships, but I'm certainly intrigued.

The problem those will always have is the lack of a dedicated video card. It has to split off too many resources to run games very well.

You probably don't need a gaming laptop, tbh. In fact, I'd recommend getting a desktop if possible because it's cheaper. Much more bang for the buck, and unless your Mac is an all-in-one, you should be able to share the monitor. BUT...you travel, so maybe a mid-grade laptop that your fam can use for other stuff would be a good choice. Just make sure it has a dedicated graphics card and memory and you'll be fine. Oh, or just wait until it comes out on Xbox. Still not sure how they'll do the controls for the controller, but I'll be using a mouse and keyboard on it (which I think is supported) so lol don't care.
