Just thinking about this
I would consider myself an introvert. I am recharged by having adequate quiet and time alone. It's not that I don't want to socialize or talk to people. I do--in small amounts and smaller crowds. I find that I am more social and talkative on places like this than I am in person. It does take less energy to type than it does to speak. Later, I often feel a little overwhelmed--maybe from too much stimuli. I am surprised by that--being able to be so talkative in this format and much less talkative in person. I guess it's making me think, how can that be? Anyone else like that?

I think a fair few people are the same, the internet can be great due to that, people can relax a bit more and don't have to be as anxious when talking as there isn't as much pressure as there is IRL.
I'm easy either way, but i've had plenty of training on how to make idle conversation even with people i've just met so find interacting face to face fairly easy, if awkward at times. When it comes to social life in the evening i prefer it online though, as i can just go when i need to and i don't have to drop loads of hints hoping that guests will clock on that it's time to go home.
With that said, i'm not a fan of large crowds. I think that's more worry than anything else though, the Bee symbols found all over our city serve as a symbol of unity but they're also reminders unfortunately.

I think I was worrying about this a little much, lol. There are times when people I know will be very talkative and I'm thinking to myself, can you just be quiet for a little while? I can be this same way online and I don't want to end up annoying people. I was thinking something might be wrong with me. š¤Ŗ

I'm a professional conversationalist so I have no problem in person or in an online format. However, as R35T said, I'm not a fan of crowds or situations that hamper my situational awareness.

From the little time you've been in a party, I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with how much you talk / don't talk, and I would definitely argue that there's no such thing as using the forums too much, you're fine, just do you.
I do tend to feel as though I talk too much personally, I have my own reasons for that, but I don't like silences that can be filled with talking and so I try my best to fill them, possibly annoying people in the process.

My recharge time is probably weird to most folks. Since I'm an old guy, I will listen to music that is, well, old Weather Channel music and playing FreeCell. It is quite relaxing for me
Go ahead, talk amongst yourselves

Go ahead, talk amongst yourselves That's funny, but I can appreciate it. I have fond memories of Weather Channel music. In junior high, we lived near my grandparents. I was dropped off at their house before school. They had breakfast made, reading the newspaper, and the Weather Channel on. And so when I visit anyone who keeps the Weather Channel on, I generally feel calmer and at ease.

After that, I can hear that you're talking, but it's all trailing off. lol. It's really not a problem for me. Even if I could hear it all, it's possible I would tune out about half anyway for being focused on aiming or shooting.

As a mild introvert I can certainly understand your situation. I much prefer spending time with close friends and family to being in crowds of bare acquaintances or strangers. I know that part of it has to do with the difficulty I have following conversations when there is a lot of background noise, so I do find it easier to converse in writing even if I do not do so very much. (My post count is greatly inflated by photo links.)
There is also a certain level of comfort in the anonymity that forums like this provide. They give the ability to express ourselves in ways we rarely, if ever, would in face to face situations. The downside, of course, is that we do lose all the non-verbal clues of nuance and tone in a written format that can help prevent misunderstandings and often cause people to misconstrue anotherās intent. Add in the differences in in regional language use (English, Southern, Redneck, āMurican) and senses of humor and you can have a rather volatile mix. Happily, it seems that most of the people that are members here seem to have gotten past those little issues and are willing to listen to even radically differing points of view fairly rationally.
As for ātalking too muchā on here, I seriously doubt that would happen. Heck, I appreciate active posters as it gives me something to read throughout the hours. And as for annoying people, that is their problem, not yours. Heck, I probably annoy 50% of the people on here with my gun and/or ship posts, but they always have the option to either block me, or just not bother to look at my posts. Besides, many of the early members survived Voldemort, so unless you are his reincarnation, have no fear!
