I'm looking at a high tier Japanese trainer and credit grinder and I was wondering if any you have experience in either. I don't see many of the in game, are they both duds? Kii has big guns and good AA, Atago has ninja stealth and really digs barbeques. Any thoughts?

Kii is underwhelming from everything I've seen (basically a worse Amagi). Atago is very good - good torp angles and has a heal - however you will often be in T10 matches as an easy to citadel ship with a max range of 15.8km. Unfortunately IJN has very few good high tier prems.

I'm think Atago is the waytogo (see what I did there?). I'm performing better in cruisers and she seems like an all around better bote than Kii. I wish she had access to spotter aircraft, but with a minimal detection range of 9.1 km, that gives you a 6.7km cushion, and the ability to easily disengage.

The Kii is only worth it if you spring for the Koybayahsi camo. Otherwise, I'd recommend giving her a pass.
Don't overlook the Harekaze if you are a DD player at all. She has quite a bit to offer and can be tailored to 3 different playstyles.
