Today was the day that the allies stormed the beaches of France, laying wake to the largest amphibious assault that had ever been conducted in the European continent,
Tens of thousands of young men, ranging from Americans, Canadians, Brits and many, many more laid down their lives in sacrifice to help bring the tyranny of the Third Reich to an end in Europe,
The coming weeks, and months were not going to be any easier, but they knew it was worth it, just to see Europe free from the clutches of Nazi Germany
Rest well knowing we remember you, and thank you for your sacrifices so we can live in a more peaceful time
We will not forget you.

Well said. Those who were a part of the landings, both airborne and amphibious, were an extraordinary breed of men. Heroes all.
