The FBI also just admitted that they received a warning from a tip line about him on January 5th. When they admitted to not following up on the tip - "We have determined that these protocols were not followed..." I guess when the FBI is too busy investigating fake Russian collusion, this shit happens... I might be wrong, but isn't the part of the FBI that does school shootings different to the one that does treason and corruption? Yes but like most National Security Agencies FBI, MI5, Mossad etc they miss things through the reallocation of resources away from where they need to be. Its ridiculous. But it happens. Look at Lee Rigbys killers. Those two oxygen thieves were on TVP, Met and MI5 watchlists but disappeared. Yes! This sociopathic kid in the US was known to have violent tendencies and declared he wanted to be a school shooter but if he was put on a no immediate threat list then he will have slipped through the net.

Widow...I watched the Deputy Attorney General's press release. Of course both sides will try to cherry pick information and some news outlets will slant it one way or another, but the interesting takeaways from his talking points for me were:
It was essentially "Information Warfare".
The Russians started their work all the way back in 2014 in order to cause as much chaos as possible during the 2017 election. President Trump didn't launch his campaign until June of 2016.
They were certainly anti-Clinton, but also pro Sanders at the same time they were pro Trump. In fact, they promoted and backed Sanders rallies along with promoting and supporting both Pro Trump and anti Trump rallies at the same time.
The same group funded and supported anti-Trump rallies after the election and owned the #NotMyPresident tag.
There is no evidence in these indictments that the Russians were successful in skewing the results. Only that they tried extremely hard to do so, stole identities, masked their identities, defrauded people, etc.
There was a man on the West Coast that has pled guilty to identity theft who was evidently providing these folks with their fake US identities.

Its horrific. Whats worse is that supposedly Facebook identified most of these and their fake accounts and fake advertising but did nothing about it. They just dont seem to care unless they are making money. They are just like WGCB in that regard. Disgusting behaviour but it will go unpunished.

I mean, you'd think after being reported literally several dozen times, it would have merited a followup... How many different students at that school have been saying "we all knew it was going to happen, and who would do it" So why did law enforcement fail so badly in this case?

Im going to guess part of the failure is due to information overload. With a population the size of the US with all those varying groups Neo Nazis, KKK, Anti Fascists, Environmentalists etc and keeping tabs on them one guy with violent tendencies will slip through relatively unnoticed. It shouldnt happen but how thin can you stretch the thin blue line before it breaks?? I live in the county of Kent in SE England. It has over 5500 miles of road. These are patrolled by just 18 Traffic Officers amongst the regular and specialist cops. Of which currently 10 are currently off sick with both stress and fatigue based illness. That line is stretched so thin but they cover so much ground in a 12 hour shift sometimes without a break. I always admit my admiration for these hard working guys and girls.

Widow...I'm not so sure this is the case this time. I just watched a news conference where the head of the Miami FBI division said it was "simply a matter of not following protocol". It seems that the FBI Tipline received a call on January 5th from a "person close to Mr. Cruz" and the information provided was extremely detailed and highlighted Cruz's desire to "kill people" and commit a school shooting. The tip was never forwarded to the Miami FBI office to be followed up as protocol dictated and a month later Cruz carried out his threats. Very sad and very preventable.

Normally I'd agree with limited resources being a valid argument, but how many people get reported 40ish times to LEOs? You'd think that'd move someone up in the queue to get checked on.

I think there its all what he was reported for. I know they have said he was banned from having a bag in school. So its a guess as to why. Possibly knife related?? He may also have been reported for knocking six shades of shit out of another kid. At this point its still all conjecture. Hopefully they'll release more info in the coming days. But I hope when he gets to trial they discount diminished responsibility or mental health problems as a defence and try him as thsy would anybody else.
