I'm on the NA server, username is R35T_NO_MORE. I don't have a clue what i'm doing but it looks like the game will good fun. I've no idea which line to pick. Wanted to go with the Brits but the ships that i recognise are all prems that say coming soon other than Warspite. Can't buy any due to tanks having drained my money too much over 4 years so thinking of picking the US and hoping Brits get TT battleships in the future. Are any of the other nations good, or that bad they should be avoided? Do any of you have any general tips?
Thanks to Dio for the tier 2 prem, much appreciated mate :-)

You have to play a bit to unlock the ability to join clans, or get captains and such.

Nassau is supposed to be the best tech tree BB at tier 3. I just couldn't make it work for me. Too slow for my tastes.

Only played a couple of games in it, this was my first, no idea if that's good or just average though: It doesn't like aircraft carriers though. God damn tiny pic. It was 95k dmg. Sounds like alot to me coming from tanks lol but not sure if that's decent for warships.

Thanks mate, really glad to be playing it at last. 1 question for anyone who knows, where is the Hood? Can't have a warship game without HMS Hood. It's got Warspite at least though.

Hood is a rare tier 7 premium. It was first sold 2 months ago, I think? It'll be back sometime. I want to say it cost $40ish? Not sure what that is in pounds.

Hey R3ST! Glad I could help man!
I have played all current battleship lines to tier 6 so far. German, Jap, and Soviet cruisers, and several destroyer lines too. Here are a few pointers for you. ( I am bored at work, waiting for my train to show up, so I apologise for the wall of text.)
BATTLESHIPS:
Japanese battleships (after the tier 3 and 4) are fast. VERY fast. They are as fast as most cruisers. Their guns have INSANE range, and are usually the highest calibre at their tier, meaning that you can absolutely DEVASTATE ships from hilariously long ranges . They pay for their speed and firepower with relatively weak armour. Keep them away from german and american battleships when possible. Medium to long range combat is where I use them, and it seems to work well!
German battleshipsare close range specialists and brawlers. They have fast reloads on their guns, which, while inaccurate, are devastating at close ranges. The German armour scheme is such that, the closer you are to your target, the stronger and harder to penetrate your ship becomes. They have excellent secondary batteries, which automatically fire at ships close enough to you. The drawback of german battleships is their unreliable main battery accuracy at range, and their weak deck armour, meaning long range fire penetrates the deck.
American battleships are slow. REALLY slow. I mean LUDICROUSLY slow. They tend to play a lot like the Germans. Their guns have decent accuracy, and shell arcs and higher velocity, paired with a high number of guns, making their broadside salvo's deadly. Their AA, ESPECIALLY the tier 5 Texas, which you get for using the reference :-), is usually pretty strong to compensate for glacially slow speeds.
CRUISERS:
German Cruisers are poorly armoured, but they are fast, with extremely good accuracy, fast firing guns, and long range with flat shell arcs and high velocity. They have excellent AP rounds which absolutely ANNIHILATE other cruisers (and even sometimes battleships if they are broadside), rapidly.
Soviet cruisers. Just....wow. Too much fun. HILARIOUS accuracy at any range. Their HE rounds hit like a truck, and incinerate anything they strike. Incredibly high velocity and flat arcs, make long range shooting disturbingly easy. THEY HAVE NO ARMOUR AT ALL. NONE. their hulls are made of rice paper.
I have to jump on the train now though, so I will have to finish up later.
Hope that helps bud!
Ronnie

Thanks mate, that does help. I like brawling in tanks, and wanted to stick with a similar playstyle for now so went with German BBs (have to get Bismarck, and hope to pick up the Scharnhorst in the future), and the US battleships are also a must have in my book (who wouldn't want the Iowa) but i had no clue which cruisers to get so the info there is extremely helpful mate :-)
Can't wait for British BBs.

Are you in the clan yet?
Also, I'll extend an offer to you. I will reset my password and you can play any ship(s) on my account you want to get a feel for what you do/don't like.

I'm not in the clan yet, think i have to lvl up a bit more, just unlocked Campaigns. That's really kind of you mate but i wouldn't want to ruin your stats in any. I hear you're very good at it, i'm very much still learning the ropes.
I learned something new today, getting hit by badly aimed friendly torps is really annoying.

You can play Co-op if you want. In a way it would probably be better than getting a Bismarck into a tier 10 Random battle this early in your career. But I don't care, they're just stats. If you want to wait until you have a few more games under your belt, that's fine too. The offer is open.
And yeah, friendly torps aren't.
