so I was watching Twitch yesterday at halftime of the Champions League and I saw a person I follow playing Crossout, so I went to install it because it looks quite cool (and it's only 2.8gb) and oh my days is it fun. It's a cross between WoT and Mad Max, you start with a pick up truck with two machine guns on it and it's pretty much 7v7.
But what I didn't know was that you can customise your pick up massively even place the guns where you want on it, from what I've seen so far you upgrade by playing battles and earning scrap metal to make extra parts. The controls in the garage are a big poor, but I think it's a PC game brought over to Console.
Theres also also a free buggy in the Xbox store you can Canibalise if you want.

Still might try it

Still might try it Been playing it on PC since closed BETA. its OK for short periods of time, I wouldnt say that it would keep my attention for long periods of time like WoWS and WOT used to. But its a nice little distraction.

Never heard of the game until it became the next meme in my friends list.
Been enjoying toying around with parts.

It's fun, but being unable to change the screen borders bugs the shit out of me I gave it a quick try the other day, but that was annoying me too. You can fix it in your TV settings. On your xbox, go to settings, display and sound, click video output, then calibrate HD TV. Folow the steps until you get to this screen: Then just change your TV's picture settings while on that screen so you can see the green outline. This fixed the problem for me and R35T. Edit: technically you can just adjust your TV settings while crossout is loaded, until you can see everything that your supposed to see, that eliminates all the extra faff lol.

Been playing recently. Seems it's easy to make money so don't see it as P2W. Get a fuel tank, and sell the fuel you get after a win. Always in demand as it's needed for raids but you don't need it for standard battles so it becomes a good source of income as you can sell it and still play. Sell any spare parts you get too. The in-game market is great for earning gold.
Also have some tips: Play the missions until you have earned 4 of each weapon and multiple items of the other rewards. You get items for winning. You want to farm them otherwise you will start the next tier of missions with 2 guns whilst other people have 3 or 4. Same for wheels, they are very important, more on that later.
Bolt as much crap as you can onto your car, it increases your hp and the amount of scrap you get after a battle, but be careful. In the bottom right of the sceen there is an info panel that tells you how much hp your car has, how heavy it is, how much energy it has (guns, jacks, engines and weapon batteries all require energy), how many pieces you have on your car, and what the overall limit is (increases with player level). Then there is power level. The more pieces you equip, the higher this goes. If it is below 3k, you will be fighting bots and lower level cars. If it goes over 3k, then you will be up against players with more experience and good vehicles. If you've new, try to keep it below 3k.
Always add as many thing as you can to your cabin, that's the most important part of your car, protect it.
Build a vehicle that has at least 6 wheels, if you only play with 4, losing a wheel is a disaster, if you have 6, you can still play fine even after losing 2.
If using machine guns, make sure you don't put that next to each other, as they will block each others line of fire, bear that in mind.
If using a canon, build something similar to a mark 1 WW1 tank steering aid and add it to the back of your car, it will prevent your car recoiling so much when you fire.
I'll post more as i learn more.

Or better yet, stockpile it, so you can use it to get a great deal of copper, of which people will pay more for because that will be riskier to get, because of fuel shortage.

That's quite a big drop, thanks for the info. Hoarding it sounds like a plan, i'm yet to try a raid. Giving that a go later

Not that i can find. Wheel placement does seem to have some effect but in general the steering is a bit odd.

Adding parts is driving me nut, you can tell it was meant for a mouse vs controller
And how do you earn credits

^sell stuff
Since the update fuel sells for a lot. Copper and wires also sell for a bit. I've earned over 1000 credits in the past 2 or 3 weeks. Helps that you can stack a fuel barrel with a large fuel barrel to get +15 on surviving wins.

Wheel placement does seem to have some effect but in general the steering is a bit odd. Make the vehicle quite long and 6 wide if you can, I make mine 6 wheelers too with 4 steering wheels, 2 front and two rear. Keep it in a 2 wheels at the front and 4 wheels at the back as well for best balance and to make it less twitchy. stagger your guns too so you've got the maximum firing no matter what the angle. You're probably not playing anymore but meh.
