Sorta. 5.56mm in a .223 chambered rifle is considered a bad idea, as the tighter tolerances create pressure spikes and could cause a BOOM under the right circumstances. .223 in a 5.56mm chambered rifle is fine, as the 5.56mm chamber can withstand the lower pressure from the .223 round. More than likely nothing bad will happen, but the chance is still there. |
