Okay, so now I need to know the story, if possible. Especially to answer one question..... "So who fucked up on the calculations?" Noone. It decided it was homesick. Some of them are rather elderly bits of kit. Only takes a bit of condensation getting into a circuit board as it goes thru temperature change and off it goes wherever it wants. Well it's good to know that in the event of a letters-of-last-resort-type scenario half of our missiles are going to end up being dumped into the sea and random bits of Africa.

Look at the Trident design. Nuclear Warheads slotted into a space BETWEEN rocket fuel in a cylinder.

We nearly hit Florida so anything is possible. Because it was being launched 5000 miles towards the South Atlantic. Okay, so now I need to know the story, if possible. Especially to answer one question..... "So who fucked up on the calculations?" No one, as a launch it was a success. Something inside the missile went wrong and sent it off course.

They are actually under the "nose" of the missile. Just above the navigation equipment and fuel cells.

Or else our SSGN Ohio Class sub with about 154 nuclear tipped Tomahawks that is probably sitting in the North Sea would have had something to give them.

Id rather hope your sub is following Kuznetsovs Task Force back up the North Sea in concert with the RAF, RCAF and HMS St Albans

No boat can carry 154 Tomahawks, even with a war load out. And the North Sea is far too close to launch one, if they can dodge all the shipping.

The stories I could tell, if they weren't classified.

They had pics of an RCAF P-3 Orion arriving for co-op trials the day before the Kuznetsov sailed up the channel. I don't believe in coincidences.

Ah, but, the USS Ohio, USS Michigan, USS Florida, and USS Georgia are all Trident subs converted from SSBN to SSGN. with 22 of their 24 missile tubes now holding 7 Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles per so that is 154 missiles.
