Still haven't seen it, but from what I understand about it, the beach is useless. I dont know about that. All three times I've played it the beach has been uncontested and allowed me as bottom tier 2/3 to trundle along and turn the opfor flank. It's as if the rumours about the beach make people avoid it. Whereas my tank crews enjoy getting sand in their picnic

Assault sucks dick if you're attacking.
They've removed most of the bushes that are on the PC version so it's quite difficult to play it the same. The best places seem to be the bowl to the East in the middle and the middle bit on the 3/4(?) line.

I've had 6 or 7 decent games on it so far but that may be because everyone is still learning their way around it so there's no map oriented tactical advantage for the long time players. I've only had the assault variation once and I was on the defending side so I haven't seen that one from the beach yet but I can see where the attackers would be at a disadvantage. Based on my one time with that variation I'd say the way to approach it from the beach would be for the heavies to use the ramps to stay hull down while mediums and TDs flank from the ends to distract enough for the Heavies to move up until everyone is on flat ground then it'll pretty much play out like any other variation. Here are a couple of decent 'how to' videos that I've found. Its a mix of a lot of maps, Westfield/Prok for the bowl and hills in the middle with a bit of Murovanka on the zero line. Play it like you play them and you'll find your tactics.
The beach is South Coast and not really worth it unless you know that the flank will work.

But then again, I also haven't played it, that's just what I've heard.

The only reason to go beach is to avoid arty. Chances are that if you are in a super heavy or other slow tank you won't be going very fast anyway, so the terrain resistances won't matter. You just have to be careful though because if you push too far you won't be able to get back to defend your cap.

I think it sucks. I have had one good game on it and about 5 or 6 shit ones, which hurts when top tier in an IS3. Don't like its layout at all. The one good game was against true sabotage in his E4, fresh with the IMTLS clan tag. Shot him in the arse with my T30, before a PG finished him off. His team was potato though, but he went the beach

I played it for the first time last night using the Jagdpz iv, it was an assault game and we were attacking from the beach. I spawned a little to the right of center and tried to push the first door to the right (east I think). But anyone that popped over the top got knocked out asap while spotters either side of the door made it a field day for the 2 arty. Then a T150 yolo'do down the door ignoring me and killing a team mate. I took care of him and moved to the eastern most door, got up that fine without being spotted and took care of a td. About the same time a few of us broke through the western side and opfor simply collapsed. I had a quick meal of arty and got 5pts for the boilermaker op.
It was bloody fun, I can't wait to get this map again.

Decent cover from arty and if you have good vision you get some good spots. Also it seems like spawn camping team mates can cover you if someone comes over the hill to play.

There are avenues to attack up to the bowl and down to the beach, and cover in between. Going top tier is dangerous; entering the bowl is a kill zone. Beach sees Borsig and the like exploiting camo and max view range.

The beach seems like the valley on Lakeville. Place to be seems to be middle right or middle left (sorry don't know the grid coordinates off the top of my head).
