Ok I didn't see a thread on this yet so I'm sorry if it already exists. I'm sure just about everyone has encountered the shitstorm maps. Just thought people could share any tips/tricks and strategies for them, as well as opinions and tales of glory.
I think these maps would be fantastic for scouting, if you can play it right but i cannot quite figure it all out. I usually am shot to pieces before i see anyone or hang too far back and have a very boring match. Hard for me to find the sweet spot. The only thing i can really say is how quick you'll be back at the garage if you overextend in a lightly armored or a slow tank in the open.

You have to be much closer to the reds to spot and God forbid you get spotted... As soon as that happens you get your ass torn in half by some fucking borsig or waffle or camping E-100 that you never even saw. Yet another fuck you light tanks, in the long line of fuck you light tanks, brought to you by WG.

Personally I let the greens spot for me until I know where the big hitters are and then I'll go where needed. I usually drive mediums or the Charioteer at the moment so I usually become the annoying person hitting stuff from range, hopefully without being spotted. But I also have no problems rushing a tank once I know where the big hitters are.

My $0.02. I've done good on these in Russian mediums and autoloaders setup with optics... not in lights so much. Creep around edges, go where the red lemming train won't go, move from cover to cover, and jumping reds or exploiting superior view range/camo. done well in the 430, t69, and Lorraine 40t. Basically aggressive active scouting techniques I guess, buy not in a scout.
I go northeast corner on ensk from west spawn, then work south along edge. Steppes I linger in middle and pray reds down charge down middle road.

Best and most fun results seem to happen when everyone sticks together and sweep through the maps. When this happens and I am in my light I try to watch the rear or sides of the bunch and bug out as soon an I'm spotted.

Mediums with atleast some armour and somewhat mobile heavies seems to work on those maps for me.

I've had more bad games and losses than good games and wins on these, though I seem to fare better on Ensk. Not sure why that is, just an observation.

Yeah, I'm not sold on these maps. I find my regular platoon mates run decently together on these. Team work is important on these maps in my opinion.
