I broke down and bought the cheapo Cdc package due to time constrants. Price was reasonable. Really enjoying the tank. I do better in lights and meds so playing the Cdc wasn't bad. Common complaints are ammoracks, crew deaths and fires. Pluses are speed, a pretty good gun in 8-9's flank shots in T10 and silver production! Grind it for free if you have time, buy it for sure if it appeals to your playstyle. The tank is very very good top tier and tbh the mm on battle tiering is evenly spread so its not like your getting T10 matches a lot. I use rammer, vents and vstabs on it and 6th sence is a must! 20 apcr for bottom tier adventures lol.

I've got rammer, vents, and v-stabs on mine. Should I swap something for Optics? Also...I've had the most success playing this a bit like a blend of the Panther 88 and Knight (playing it a bit like a light tank...but conservative early in the game) - am I doing it right?

Running Vstabs, Rammer, and optics on mine.
It's a solid tank, but good lord, if something looks at it, it gets ammo racked.
Weakest ammo rack I've ever seen on a tank, so don't get shot and you'll be fine.

ive been lucky on the ammo rack i guess, only happened to me once so far, but i hit them on the enemy almost every time haha
thinking about a wet ammo rack til i can train safe stowage, idk.

For the post above, it didn't happen yet for me but i'm sure it will be a catastrophe if it gets hit by a 120 mm or higher caliber HE shell.

I played several games in the KV-2 yesterday just hoping to get a shot at a CDC. Never happened...I'm very sad. If nothing else...maybe someone will want to try it in a training room... |

I have only ran mine a few times also. Don't think it is going to become a fave of mine. Just like the liberte, not really stronk enough armour for my play style. The depression is great, and it is super speedy for a tier 8 medium. The pen of the gun is over 200 with standard AP, but somehow doesn't feel like it, more motherland than my STA. APCR does the job though, as it always does. Not been ammo racked yet, but twatted by arty yes = dead frenchie
I am running rammer, vents and gld, but I guess something to help boost the range is a good thing with paper armour, so may drop vents for optics.

I'm experimenting with vertstab, gld, and vents. My reasoning is that the gun has good reload stock but does meh alpha damage so wanted to max the snapshot/peekaboo accuracy. Only played one game like this but came out top in damage in a tier viii match. Overall a fun zippy tank with a good gun that plays a lot like a fat T-44.

I've had a spread of results, both good and bad, but I like the tank. It is map and team dependent IMO. If you get caught alone you be YOLO'd by any tank with some sort of armor because every shot will pen.

At first I tried Rammer, Vert Stabilizer, and a Medium Spall Liner. I think it "saved" me a couple times. And by "saved", I mean I got hit by arty and instead of doing all 1400 points of damage, it "only" did 1250 damage. Lucky me. A module or two was also still destroyed.
Switced it out for GLD. It was OK. But the view range and camo meant that I generally was being spotted. It should noted that I have not gone down the Bat Chat line or TD line so my only good French crew was for heavies that did not have the typical view range and camo skills I think this tank needs.
Swtiched it back out for Optics. Much better choice. Can stay back just that much more that is crucial in this tank.
Overall impression is that there are no small mistakes in this tank. Accidentally stick your turret over a ridge just a foot? Wrecked. Accidentally take a small hill too fast? Wrecked.

Gave up on vert stab, gld, vent combo. I kept running into other CDCs with quicker reloads. So settled on gool ol' rammer, vert stab, and vent. Thought about optics but decided this thing really is too bulky to be a ninja scout. Crew view range skills plus vents are enough for its role for me.
