I got a new skateboard. Not just another skateboard either, but a longboard. Kind of big switch for a dude that started skating street and then moved to pools and bowls. Its like learning how to skate again almost, having such a blast! Also got more road rash than I have on 10 years too. Its funny my wife actually wants me to play tanks becuase "I'd be safe at home" and not flying down the streets.

Neat. I did a LOT of skateboarding back in the '70s (when it was still cool). I still got my ol' Krypstick in the garage, might have to dust it off and take it for a spin. There's a group on facebook called Skaters Over 50 that you might check out. Guys like you still skate and they share stories and photos (old and new) and talk about their skateboards. I saw a post of a guy on his Krypstick the other day. Nice board! |

Ok I have been playing more but I still push my limits on my longboard. Yesterday I set a new personal speed record at 47mph (75.6 kmph)! Hope to break 50 soon.

Those are awesome ZERO!! The Midwest...I'm from the Midwest(Iowa), it was warm here a couple days this week. Went for my first motorcycle ride in a couple months on Tuesday afternoon for a couple hours when it hit 50 degrees.

Because nothing would say insanity like going head first down a hill on a tea tray on wheels at 80mph. I looked it up, and there is video of people going downhill headfirst (with helmets on). There really aren't any rules written down as to how to build one and how to properly do it, so if someone wanted to race headfirst they could probably do it. Be a deathwish though becuase you do alot of the steering and braking with your legs. Back in the late 70's there were skatecars where the prefered position was laying down headfirst. Jack Smith still holds the world record at 60mph. They stopped doing it becuase they were so dangerous. |

I haven't been playing lately becuase I had to get dialed in for skate school. Skate school is in Santa Fe, New Mexico. So I decided while I was here, I would test myself and my luge skills on a real mountain road! Here is the awesome footage of my 9 minute, 4.7 mile desent. Also I finally broke the 50 mph (80 kph) barrier! My wife was behind me in our car doing 48 and couldn't keep up!
